With E3 (http://e3expo.com/) only hours away, I felt it would be nice to give the community a little preview of what we can expect to see from somebody who hasn't announced anything for the second half of this year, Nintendo (nintendo.com). Take a look:

Before we begin I should state that none of this has been officially announced by Nintendo, it's complete guess-work.

The Casual Market
The Wii has broadened the casual gamer market in giant fashion. With games such as WarioWare and Boom Blox having great appeal it's hard to imagine that Nintendo will stray too far away. One thing to note is that many of these games are not made by Nintendo, but by third-party developers. With that type of scenario you shouldn't expect Nintendo to announce a game like Carnival Games 2. One game that we know will appeal to the casual gamer is Mario Super Sluggers. There has not been a lot of media given for it yet so expect many videos to be released.

The Hardcore Market
Hardcore gamers are the group that Nintendo has struggled to pull in. While a game like Sambo de Amigo is fun for five minutes, this audience is looking for much more. Hardcore gamers can't really complain after the past year; with releases like Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it's hard to say that this year was anything less than great. So what does Nintendo have in store? Well looking a little into the future we see that Call Of Duty: World at War is already in development, as is the long awaited Wii Music. Another game which might be capable of shoving it's weight is Spore. How well the Wii's online capabilities will work is still in question. So that sounds great, the only problem is that Wii Music would be the only game actually developed by Nintendo, and we've yet to hear of any upcoming Miyamoto titles. Don't worry, Nintendo has stated that there is something to be announced next week, and it will be big. Read on.

What Could It Be?
Kid Icarus? Super Mario Time Travel? Metroid Prime 4? As far as we know Kid Icarus would be the most likely candidate amongst that group, but that doesn't mean it's a sure thing. Since Phantom Hourglass was released we have heard nothing on the Zelda front. Should we be expecting another epic Zelda title? Or will they be going back to a more humbler franchise in the form of Animal Crossing: Wii. For myself, a new Donkey Kong game would be a real shocker. I think it would be best to look at last year's E3. Was there any huge game announcement? No. There was Wii Fit, but that was more or less to advertise the Balance Board, not the game itself. With that in mind I think that gamers should be looking for a new peripheral, not a game. What will it be? Your guess is as good as mine. The Wii might have an entirely new level of capabilities that Miyamoto will only unveil this year. Perhaps it will be a second attempt at the Virtual Boy. On the other hand we could be looking at another re-incarnation of the NES Zapper. Only time will tell. I should mention that as of right now, Nintendo's E3 press conference is only thirty five hours away.

What do you think will be unveiled this week? Will we see something revolutionary or just some more of the simple Wii Sports type game? Share your thoughts with the community.

I think Nintendo will unveil the N84, the most advanced console ever conceived (a PC!).

The all knowing Manzi predicts the following from Nintendo executives at this years E3.

"We have realized that the competition from Sony and Microsoft was too strong we cannot produce enough units there for we must take the same road as Sega and bow out of the console development and distribution market."
