MY question is why is that nesesary?? Many routers cannot handle that many ports being forwarded. There just aren't enough slots to put them in. I shouldn't have to DMZ my computer just to play 2142..

Port forwarding is pointless. It doesn't do anything, I never forwarded any ports on BF2 and my ping was always fine.

well do u use a router?

And if u do, it's maybe not necessary on urs :)

I do use a router, but ionly have 5 spots left to put port forwarding in. I do notice that some of those ports are main-use ports (ie: port 80 shouldbe open on all comptuers, as that is the defualt HTTP port), so maybe some of them are not nesesary.

it needs that many ports. How else would it be able to connect to all the different ad servers to transmit your data?
