Good to see that the PS2 is still being supported to be honest. Kind of a rarity these days.

I find Sony to be contradicting themselves, they said many times that they want there PS2 owners to upgrade and have seen them upgrading but why continue to heavily support the PS2 in this way if you want people to upgrade, either way Sony makes money, I can understand new games, but new bundles and such for this just isnt a smart move i think if you want people to upgrade.

Yeah I guess it can be seen as contradictory, I think Sony realises the PS2's appeal right now is for families that don't really want to go out and splash out on a Wii for £180 and want some cheap thrills to keep the little ones occupied and the PS2 is so established that it's got the IPs to satisfy these people not to mention a large back catalogue of both mint and pre-owned games.

Obviously they also want people to go for the PS3 but that's clearly a lot more expensive than what people have in mind for a family console. I think that's why the Wii has continued to sell so well in the family market for it's price and the products that are available are practically all tailored to that market.

I would imagine Sony would much rather have the families buy a cheaper and better established PS2 than go over to be forced to go over to a competitor such as the Wii, because of poor support for the PS2.
