I would assume they bill your credit card in USD. You can do a currency conversion using current rates here:
http://finance.yahoo.com/currency/convert?amt=49.99&from=USD&to=CAD&submit=Convert
That says $49.99 USD is $57.02 CDN. Of course, that conversion is at the Bank Rate, and your credit card company will probably not exchange exactly at that rate, but probably has a one or two percent hike.

Everywhere in stores it's being advertised as $59.99 CAD. However Futureshop is giving a $10 instant rebate like they always do on new releases. So I'd imagine EA downloader is going to have it for $59.99 as well.

I've got mine pre-ordered with Futureshop. Why pay more for the same thing? In the past they have always gotten my game in on the release date. Hoping they won't fail me now.

Beerman...there are advantages and disadvantages.
Pros:
Downloader version does not need a cd
DVD Version means that you have a HARD COPY in case anything happens.
Cons:
DVD Version requires that you have the DVD in to play.
Does NOT include free Beer. :(

No tax on EA downloader.
14% exchange rate, 14% GST/PST/HST
Basically, it is about equal
So, unless you see it for less this $49.99 CDN, ea downloader is cheaper

110% pricematch... Futureshops $49.99 with Bestbuy's $59.99
You then get cheaper then $49.99.
PS. Not exactly sure they'll do it. :D Might as well try.

Future Shop has BF 2142 for $49.99? Dam, I bought BF2 at wal-mart for $59.99 and that was 10 months after its release. Thats it, from now on I'm buying games at Canadian stores.

I have been using Future Shop for all of my games purchases for this reason ;)
$10 off each and every new release. At least now it's for a week..before it used to be for just 1 day.

Speaking of the best country on earth, have you seen our new recruitment ads?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_6vK_JSSTo
first 10 seconds are black screen.
I like how 1 ad pretty much is saying "If you resist we will kick your ***'s" and 1 says "were here to help you" :D

I agree; Canada is the best country on earth.
As for recruiting... what they need to do is keep the physical requirements for joining the same for combat roles. While basically dropping them for non-combat roles. Just make sure the recruit isnt unhealthy basically. This way they could be accepting a huge amount more people to fill their ranks. Lots of people would be available for non-combat roles and those would be filled entirely. Then they could get those other people to be getting in shape while they wait for the job placement call. Or alternatively they could try to get them to get into shape and go for a more physically demanding job. Which the availability is more open.
The sad problem with recruiting is that they keep dropping requirements like IQ and citizenship;among others; which shouldnt be changed...
Alternatively they could also aim at people in our group... like ages 15-25 guys who game. We generally are pretty educated in how technology works. We also have a very strong interest in military stuff. So the devs behind Americas Army could kinda drop AA and start developing a new game which will focus more on NATO; where you will essentially have a very battlefield 2 type game. But in a mmorpg type of deal. So keeping it FPS in line with the AA and the much more hide and shoot around corners type of deal. But also include navy warfare(which no games really have covered all that much) and aircraft.
So like nato countries could use the game for recruitment. Where you could have military run lan-parties which part of the time they game, while another part of it they can be out checking out REAL technology that is in fact in the game and such. Essentially like the Canadian Cadets program.

Best Buy, Future Shop, doesnt really matter to me. The only best buys I've ever seen are in Toronto, none where I live. So basically its either Future Shop, or Zellers.

aww come on. Wheres your Canadian spirit?

well i dont get the paper, so i dont get those ads. Thusly all I rely on would be the bestbuy.ca website which has it at $59.99
bestbuy.ca $59.99 (http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0926INGFS10074191&catid=21136&logon=&langid=EN)
It also still says Releases 17 Oct/06 but apparently that's wrong.

Obviously because the website hasn't been updated, hence the price as well.
There's something called "Weekly ad" where it allows users to read the flyers online. Look at the top left corner.

Actually I just went and bought 2142 from bestbuy. The price was indeed $59.99 and you are correct that it does say it's $49.99 but that's 3 days only and not today. So they told me, well if you come back tommorrow you can get it for $10 less. Which is absolutely absurd, a manager could just go over and give me the discount. But the manager came over and just said no well i cant give the discount. So I used futureshop's Futureshop's $49.99 (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10074191&catid=11124&logon=&langid=EN) and just pricematched. I got a whole $2 less then if I had bought it for $49.99. TOO funny. Instead of just giving me the $10 off, they gave me $12. HOW SMART!!!
