Shacknews (http://www.shacknews.com) has gotten their hands on some hi-res shots of a hot new shooter that will be coming out next year. The screenshots are of Aliens: Colonial Marines and they are extremely impressive.

Originally, Colonial Marines was the name of a game slated to be released on the PlayStation 2. The original game was more of a typical FPS that included a story line taking place between the second and third films. The game was canceled, without reason, and never saw its release in the Fall of 2001.
Since then, Sega (http://www.sega.com/) picked up the rights to the Alien franchise from 20th Century Fox (http://www.foxmovies.com/) and have partnered up with Gearbox Software (http://www.gearboxsoftware.com/) to bring you the game you see today. Aliens: Colonial Marines is now billed as a tactical shooter that has you taking command of a four man squad. It is slated for a 2009 release on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 platforms.
