Field Unlocks?

Were these removed, or am I missing something on getting them?

Now that that's over with...assuming they still exist...


Let us discuss the "tips" for getting these field unlocks. >_>

have a good squad leader that gives orders, then you follow them.

thats all there is too it.

I have gone many many games with not even one, then one game I had a good squad and leader and we had 3 field upgrades in like 10 minutes.

there is a bar in the upper left of the HUD that fills up as you do stuff your squad leader tells you to WHILE youre within a certain distance of him as well as the target he has chosen. so basically you lone wolves out there are screwed, field upgrade wise. stick with your squadleader, make sure he gives orders, follow those orders, and that bar should fill up multiple times. remember to stay on the server, because you lose the field upgrades if you change servers.

the easiest way i have found to get field upgrades is to be the squad leader myself (i always am anyway). constantly be giving your squad orders to attack and defend different control points. never use the "move" order, as it does not specifically target a certain point and thus gives no bonus to actions performed in that area. after you take a point, change the order from "attack" to "defend" and hang out for a couple minutes. kill any attackers and get some extra points before issuing the next attack order.

TITANS: best way to get squad leader/member success points. as soon as the shield goes down, tell your squad to attack the titan (or defend your own if youre feeling generous). then, make sure everyone goes inside the titan as well as staying close to you. every kill they get inside the titan will give extra points. i've gotten ridiculous amounts of squad leader success points defending and attacking titans. trust me.

one more thing. for the squad leader upgrades, you have to have unlocked them before you can choose them with a field upgrade, unlike the kit field upgrades which can be chosen and used as a field upgrade even if you haven't unlocked them. so my advice to the squad leaders out there is simply this: choose an unlock path you want to take and go with it. when you're done, get all the squad leader unlocks. then, if you want, go for other unlock trees. having the squad leader upgrades will help you get points faster for those later ranks and unlocks.

I can choose the SLB unlock just fine as a field upgrade...and I don't have that as an unlock. You are perhaps bugged? Or perhaps you were in beta and it has since changed?

Anyone know what the field unlocks are??
Any order they come in?

They are the normal unlocks. There are a few differences:
1. They are temporary. As long as you stay on the server, you will have them.
2. You can't use field unlocks for the player abilities (for sure not the Sprint and Recover)
3. You can only use a field unlock for an item that is one higher than what you have unlocked with permanent unlocks. Example: You used a field upgrade to unlock the Rollermines, you can't use a field upgrade later to unlock the AA weapon.

I know this'll sound stupid. . .but how do you actually use them once you've selected them? I tried popping a shield for 5 minutes with my 1-9 keys. :)

After you've selected them you have to go back into the customize screen and drag them onto your player. Its kind of a ***** of a process if you ask me.

Can Commander get field upgrades?
I played as squad Leader in a game we got 3 field upgrades while i was leader. the guys where happier then a Hobbo on a Ham Sandwitch

I had this great squad and we got 5/6 field unlocks over 2 rounds. I ran out of things to unlock lol:laugh:

Thanks for the help- I got it to work last night on the server; as SL, I unlocked the mobile spawn point and we were able to spawn behind enemy lines :D

You can take frag grenades as a field upgrade, but not the sprint related ones. Not sure about extra clip and extra grenades one. I was SL yesterday and the field upgrades come pretty quickly with a decent unit.

I am not able to select the extra clip as a field upgrade, haven't made it to the extra greande yet.

i think with field upgrades u can only get the next item in a tier e.g. if u haven't unlocked the Defib and u unlock it as a field upgrade, then u can't unlock the advance med hub even if u get another field upgrade (its greyed out)

i got so fed up of all the field Upgrades over 1 round alone that i left the server cause i couldn't unlock anymore.
