Has anyone found that on defense points come very very easily? I just went back to back rounds scoring (the score that counts twords your unlocks) with 175, and 192. It just almost seems like cheating, especialy with the support kit and a well placed shield.

wow.. .that makes me wish i had invested into the support kit. I'm just assault right now and the rockets kick ***. At least my k:d is still over 2.0 with it...

I would guess once people get used to it then it wont be so easy to defend. Love it while it lasts, people will eventually find work arounds :)

Defense IS easier when the other team assaults your titan piecemeal. All you have to do is lay prone between your shield and a pilon with just your barrel sticking out and mow down anyone that comes down the hallway.

One of two things will happen. People will get sick of getting mowed down and stop assaulting the titan. Defenders will get sick of waiting around too and go back to to the ground war. People will then start attacking the titan again.

More likely is people will start learning to assault the titan in squads. You get mad points for working a titan over as a unit. Plenty of kill, heals, revives, resupplies to be had.

Just imagine if they turned FF off on APMs

I guess people will learn how to use grenades and the nade launcher right and soon the prone campers will be no big issue anymore. Thats what happened in the beta.

That's the thing. I'm thinking of mastering the Support class. Get both unlock weapons. If I'm on offense, I'll just customize and put the ClarkB Shotgun as the primary. If I'm on defense, I'll just customize and put the HMG as the primary. Either way, you will rape and get points, but I doubt the fun factor will be there.

Agreed.

Go Support, deploy the shield and sentry gun, drop an ammo hub and spam some grenades and you've locked down a titan corridor on your own until the attackers stop and get organised. I was getting so many award popups on my screen, it was a good job I was not having to aim a gun! 8 different awards obtained in 1 round.

However, nades and rockets easily bypass shields, the sentry guns get knocked out soon enough and there's a pulse detector unlock that shows the location of people thru walls (I've yet to unlock this, but I am thinking "Aliens" here) so what works to your advantage today will be bypassed tomorrow....

Plopping yourself down in a titan corridor will just get you killed. Most grunts on the attack were smart enough to equip nades as one of thier first unlocks. Makes quick work of support if you are too close to thier entry point.

You have to plan where you make your last stand. If you are defending, make sure you use the titan guns to clear out any APC's sneaking up on your titan and then scan the skys right after the shield goes down for incoming transports. Once they are in, run for a eject pod and eject back up on the upper level of your titan and get into the sniper corridors to mow them as they run in.

Where are they? If they are in 1 or 2, setup in 3 or 4. You can't compete in a stand up close quarters fight against assault and you need to stay alive to defend.

If you have unlocks, you will survive longer.
Setup towards the rear of the corridor to protect yourself longer from frags. Get your shield out, setup your sentry one column in front of your postion, drop a ammo crate and get ready. Mow like you mean it and dont let your Heavy machine gun overheat.

If and when they get the last corridor, eject back up on the titan and get into the sniper corridors to attack from thier rear. When they pop the gen go for the mass slaughter as they exit. Useless but very satisfying.

About the nades: If you defend in console corridore 1 or 2 (i prefer 2) the length of the corridor where the enemies enter, to where you camp (its right next to the console for me) is too long to throw nades. If you get 2 support and an assault together in this way with 2 shields out its very difficult to defeat, even with a squad.

Aoubt sent guns... what the hell? I though they were supposed to be fixed from beta. All mine does is fire at the wall making a very annoying sound after a while. It does work as sort of an early warning system, but other then that its pretty useless.

oh yeah, just got 254 to top my old score! Go defending.

Uh no. Usually nobody helps you defend. If they do it's a little easier, but even as a support guy with turrets and the IPS shield you are ONLY BUILT for small arms fire and anti infantry combat. One grenade flies down the hallway and you either take it like a man or run like hell.

I have every support unlock now, and I'm pretty much useless outside of Titan defense. It's all I do. The pulse meter isn't that useful, I'm having a hard time deciding between using it or my enforcer turret. The IPS shield is mandantory, I love it. The heartbeat sensor would be useful if I had a squad using voice chat, so I could call targets, but other than that it's not. It's not passive, it's a device you whip out and it can scan every 3 seconds or so. When you scan it only shows you through walls in your current point of view, and it doesn't show moving targets. It's kind of like taking a still photograph of a wall hack.

People help me defend because i play with friends. I think you missed my point about the grenades. The hallway i gaurd, the distance between me and my targets is too far to throw a grenade, so im safe for them unless they make a rush against me. Sometimes a 3 man rush, but usualy a 4 will beat me solo, but with my 2 buds with me they are not really a problem.

If you are defending alone a lot, mabey try putting people who you see also defend on your friends list? 1 support with a shield is mean, but 2 and an assault is just plain wrong.

My best tip is if they are coming at you very quickly they have to have an air transport or a squad beacon somewhere on your ship. Drop pod onto the back of your own Titan from the hangar, on your way down it is possible to land on their drop ship, killing it. Check around out there and in the vents for any squad beacons...this next part is very important. The dropship spawns almost instantly after you kill it and someone always grabs it to come back, ALWAYS. There will be a steady stream of dropships coming at your Titan...and there are some clever ground troops that are hampering your Titan's turrets from below and sometimes above. At the point in which you kill their dropship, kill yourself or get back to the hangar somehow, quickly. Get into the upper turrets and defend against incoming dropships and APCs below with the mortar turrets. This is especially effective if you are within visual range of their hangar...where you can watch them take off. I got 3 air defense pins and a freakin ribbon in one game just from doing this. I wasn't camping per say, they just kept coming and coming and coming, and the only way to stop them was to do that. If I didn't, they would have kept coming and we'd lose.

Here is my main point - NOBODY USES THE TITAN'S TURRETS. Some people are starting to, but more people need to more often. Too often I see that the enemy has destroyed a few turrets and the team simply writes them off for the rest of the game - they are REPAIRABLE people. Grab a wrench and repair the seat that it's in. Occasionally you will get in a "tug of war" with a ground anti air turret...you repair, he destroys, you repair, he destroys. In this incident it is pretty hard to find him first of all, since you are rarely actually in the turret...once you do he's pretty easy to take out though. Anyway the main point - denying the enemy access to your Titan is *THE SUREST DEFENSE* against them taking it down. Scan for APCs below, scan for dropships above. If you miss a dropship, it'll be below your line of fire with the turrets and you won't be able to shoot it without podding to the back of the ship and landing on it, or simply piloting it to hell by flipping it upside down into the ground.

Yeah thats actualy good defense, but then you dont get to see all the lambs come to slaughter. It truely is a beautiful sight. The points arnt bad either.

You know how many points I got in that air defense rush? I think it was 20 for each pin, and more for the ribbon, and then about 3 kills per dropship. The pins you can get more than one of, I think you can only get the ribbon once though.

Oh yeah you can get multiple pins. Ive goten the titan defense one about 4 times in a match, the 5 kill streak 10 kill streak 2 or 3 times a piece. But the score from the air defense does sound awfuly nice. Ill have to try that one out (although that means relying on people inside the titan to defeat any enemies in there and not sure i can do that).
