A badly placed squad leader beacon and you and your squad could find your self easy target practice for Flag or Silo defenders. I found this out to my cost just last night. So I was wondering what you think the best position in relation to a flag you are trying to capture.

Personally I like to place the SLB behind cover but relatively close to the flag boundary, this gives your squad a huge advantage over the defenders who must come out to attack and destroy the SLB or face being pinned down until an orbital strike or another squad helps you out. Also giving your squad cover helps you regroup if your first assault fails. There is one problem with this strategy thou and that is a good defending team will know where your coming from and can over run your SLB making it unusable, Never destroy a SLB from the opposing team as this will give the squad the chance of placing a new SLB. That's my thoughts anyway.

Can you place them indside/on the cargo deck of the titan?

Yes, but when you launch, you miss the ship, or at least I did.

I'd say behind a large building if you can, so they don't see the incoming pod. If not just use it like the tunnels in BFV. I'd usually sprint out into some isolated area and plant it near a hill.

The biggest problem in BFV was your teammates though. They'd almost always take the same route leaving the spawn point and in doing so totally give you away to the spawn point hunters.

Also keep in mind that the spawn beacons in 2142 are loud as hell. You can hear them from a good 50 meters distance.

If you place a spawn beacon right next to a tall building you can guide your pod to land on top.
Doing this on Fall of Berlin is best as it has lots of very tall buildings, works better than grapple hooks:D
For the entire round me and my squad camped the rooftop of this building and owned it.
Plus you dont have to worry about getting knifed, unless the enemy does the same, but you hear the pods landing.

There is an amount of movement possible once you're dropping in your pod, so you should not miss the desk of the titan, if you have put an SLSB there (well, not more than once, anyway!).

Next to buildings and structures is a very useful location, otherwise, I would always go for a slight distance away from the target silo, peferably uphill, so you can overlook it.
