just a few questions about the engineer class
1. Can the anti tank rifle be used as a sniper rifle agenst infantry or does it fire to slow to hit anything moving?
2. Can you carry the normal rocket launcher with guidance aswell as the AA rocket launcher?
3. Can the AA launcher do damage to ground vehicles?
4. where is the best place to hit a mech to destroy it? i hit one in its main guns once n its health bar wen down by about 75% :S

1. anti tank rifle is too inaccurate
4. legs, vents round the back (see taking out walkers thread)

1. No...sadly..no.
2. No...you can only carry ONE main engie weapon at a time.
3. I imagine it could, but getting it to HIT one would be an exercise in frustration...it would be like using the shoulder mounted rocket in BFV
4. Yes, see that thread. Knee joints and 'groin vents' are the weakest spots, followed by legs, rear, and main body

Well, I posted my initial thoughts on that unlock, and so far, I prefer the original launcher. More versatile. Sure, it's a little less damage, but I can live with that.

It can hit infantry, but it is very difficult. The speed of the AVR round is 60m/s. Compare that to the guided AT missile of 4 m/s, and a round shot from an AR of 900 m/s.
It is possible, but not very likely. Also, I don't know what the splash damage is from the AVR.

Well since it is not guided and way faster than the basic one it is perfect for fire...hide...reload...fire tactics. Pretty much like the RPG in Special Forces. It is quite a bit harder for vehicles to fight you back.

hmm..i think ill stick with the guidance for now n just get the roller mines, they look quite fun :P

I agree. One of the main advantages of the H-AVR is that it won't set off the alarm inside the vehicle so they can put up their active defense. So far, very few people konw how to use that correctly. Once people start to use the active defense more effectively, then it will become more useful to have the H-AVR.

Yeah, and roller mines ARE fun :D
I can't wait to have the entire engie trees unlocked so that I can really try everything out fully...I'll try out those 'other classes' later ;)

are the mines really visable? cos from wot ive seen of the demo..there isnt alot of grass to hide mines.
n do the roller mines set off vehicle alarms?

How are the roller mines? I really want to get them but I'm not sure how effective they will be against anything. Any ideas? Are they mainly anti-humvee mines?

I agree. The roller mines are great. Put down 3 or 4 of them, watch them float into the air, and attack. I have killed quite a few Walkers and Tanks this way. Also works well for setting up a kill shot with the AT weapons.
I personally love the PDS-1. Especially in titan mode. I have had numerous occasions where I am capturing a silo, and I see a tank approaching. I throw this thing down, and "Dance" with the tank keeping the silo between me and him until I capture it. Or, if he doesn't know I am there, it tells me when his back is turned to me, so I can light him up.
Also a lot of fun to stick on the FAVs, so you know if you are about to drive into a mass of armor vehicles.

yes you can stick them to anything, like a personal UAV but it only detects vehicles.

So hold on....what do the motion mines detect and attack? People? Just vehicles? Do they do enough damage to vehicles to actually kill anything?

kool im definetly gunna unlock that PDS thing.
n in the unlock tree it says sumting about the rollermines detect ground vibration n electric sensors or sumting..so it probably only tracks vehicles

AFAIK , only vehicles..but I have had only limited experience with the roller mines.

I have never seen them attack people. Granted they could kill somebody when they explode on a vehicle.

i wunder if u put them ontop of the reactor core wall or a high building if they wud jump up n be able to hit low flying aircraft :D ...i doubt it tho :(
lmao if they cud attack people that wud be funny to c..watching people run while a lil ball chases em away, or drop em into a titan hallway n watch it take out all the defending people :P
I'm still waiting to see this stuff in use! I'm intrigued to see the Engy unlocks, but haven't got em myself as I went support first. Up till now I have not been chased by any mines as far as I know.
Agree totally about the shields comments. The AT rocket upgrade will come in to it's own once everyone works out how to use their vehicle shields.

So do they do enough damage to actually kill a vehicle? I really want them but if they don't do any more damage than a nade I might as well stick to EMP grenades. The description makes them sound very weak.
