I tried my hand at commander last night and have a few issues.....dont get me wronng I am not complaining....just need to get used to how it works in 2142

1st off issueing orders. How in the heck do you do it? I click on a squad, right click on the map where I want to give the order, but the only order I can issue is the move order. I for the life of me can not see where to change it to "attack" or "defend". Happens to me as well when I am a squad leader...same thing. The only way that I am ever able to give an "attack" order is as squad leader when I move my crosshair over a flag icon in game and hit T and give the order that way.

2nd.....Is it me or does commanding in 2142 seem a little more boring? It is definately alot different feeling than in BF2. Not that comparing them should be done...different game. Anyway, maybe it was becuase I had squads that actually tried to follow orders, making the orbital strike un-necessary. I mean I gave a move order and the squads went....no need to bombard my own team right?

3rd....The recharge times take a long time to recharge...again not a complaint but adds to the paragraph above.

4th...does the commander points basicallly work the same as in BF2? Also does a squad leader get extra points like squad members do for following squad leader orders?

I'm also confused as to how your score is affected by commanding. While commanding, I did not recieve any teamwork points when capping flags, etc.

I only recieved points for "Commander Bounus (+1)" and I'm not positive (I'll have to double check next time I play) but I think I only got 1 point for each kill I got (non-orbital strike kills).

I couldn't figure out how to issue orders either.

The zoom feature needs to be tweaked. You zoom in and you're always looking at a spot North of where you pointed your cursor.....forcing you to use the directional keys to scroll to your intended location.

long reload time for assets are good! In BF2 I always used to get artillery spammed and it was very annoying

lol, right click on the flags, if it yours you will only see defend option, if enemy you will see attack option, if you just click anywhere you will see move option

Not so Dr!!! Didnt matter what flag it was...enemy, friendly, or nuetral....only option I have is the move order. Same with being squad leader...the only way I can order my squad to attack is not by viewing the map, pointing the cross hair of my weapon on a flag icon and issueing the order...thats the only way I have ever issued another order other than move.

Another thing.....how do youi get the menu to come up to tell squads they are doing a good job or lousy job? It came up once but I couldnt find where to do it again.

If you click on the little radio icon in the squad list the window of chat messages will pop up.

Theres a couple other things there that are a little confusing, theres that little box that you can click and it turns between A "?" and a Check mark mark that I can't figure out what it does.

Also is there a commander guide anywhere that someone made for 2142 or an applicable guide from one of the other games?

You have to point at the actual flag ICON (not the flag or the area). When you do that, the icon has a yellow outline around it. You then click give order.

If you're commander, you right click on the flag ICONs on the commander view overhead map. If you're wanting to give a defend/attack order on a titan, you right click the REAR PORTION of the titan icon.

As for commander points, I think you get +Commander points if you give an order, a squad leader accepts it, and if any squad members of that squad kills an enemy in the general area of your order.
