What is the difference between a ranked and rank restricted server?

Your talking about 2 totally different things here. What they mean by ranked servers is that it is a server where when you go on it it will keep track of your points and stats and you can earn more rank and unclocks and various awards.

A rank restricted server may still be a ranked server but it limits the players who can play on it. For example someone might put a restriction on a server that only allows players with a rank of SGT or above to play it.

I'm just trying to figure out where my 200 pts, dogtags, and awards are.

Stat server lag, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If the server didn't crash (not likely) then your stuff will show up eventually.

Rank Restricted servers are still ranked. They set a mimimum bar for entry. It tries to ensure a higher level of gameplay since you're assuming that by a given rank players will know how to play the game properly. I believe the highest rank you can use to restrict is 10 though.

Exactly...My promotions in this game have come 2 at a time so far due to server lag...

Thanks, I feel better. I knew there was lag. But in BF2 it was only ever a few hours for me, two or three.

It was six or so and still no update, i'll try again when i get home. (x's fingers, I earned a lot of titan awards last night :)

The rank restriction is the other way. It only allows players in the first 10 ranks to join. Because of the importance of the unlocks, this will give the new players a fair chance.
