VoIP to talk to other squad leaders

I asked this in another thread ages ago, but no-one replied. Somewhere in the game I saw that it said that you can use VoIP in two ways just like in BF2. You can use V to talk to your squadmates and B to talk to your commander AND other squad leaders.

If there is no commander, can you still use V to co-ordinate with other squad leaders?

Since they use two different channels my answer would be yes but i have never tried it:D

No you can't. Sorry didn't explain myself very well in my OP. This is one of the many small improvements on BF2 that makes BF2142 so much better IMO.

You can't talk to other squad leaders unless you use team chat (typing it in).
