Okay, I've been seeing a lot of threads around with titles like "HELP Vetran problem" and such. Well, I thought I would help straighten out any problems you have.
When you registered for veteran status:
http://battlefield2142.ea.com/battlefield/bf2142/veteran.aspx (In case you haven't yet.)
After you filled out the box and hit submit. This is what you're submitting to:

Did you put a space in front of your name or did anything else?
And my next question is did you try the retrieve details?
I typed in all of my email addresses and got several accounts and from there I could remember which one I had used.

Yes, good job!
I had NO problem with mine! I just put in my EA account name & PW (blue & green) & when it went to the Soldier screen (red) it automatically had my name in there. I chose the soldier name & it went to the next screen which had a message box saying, "Welcome back to duty Soldier, here is your rank up, blah blah blah"!
I would like to just say that I Uninstalled the Demo (EVERYTHING) including deleting the demo folder, then Defragged & then installed the FULL game through the EAD!
I would really hope that ALL the people knew that the VET program was ONLY for those who already had BF2! Not trying to say that anybody is stupid or no offense!

Well your tutorail was nice but I followed the instructions even before you posted it. I still can't claim my Vet nickname and yes I used the retrieve options for nickname & password. The email I get has the same info I'm useing to try and reclaim my vet account, but it says the account is already in use.

So anyone here who put a space in front of their names in the veteran program and got the name without the space? Because I created 2 veteran accounts since it claimed my name was reserved (unlikely and it was in the first days of the vet program), so I had to create one with my BF2 name (which I had to change from Adval since my Gamespy account had messed up the BF2 naming stuff and I couldn't get Adval back then).
Then I read in here that if you put a space in front of your name in the vet program, it will work and you'll still get the name without a space (in this case I would get "Adval" instead of " Adval", which I entered). So I did that. And my copy of the game should arrive tomorrow so I'm just wondering if the "space trick" will work or should I just go with my BF2 name?

Ah, that's very good news. Thanks for the info! :) Now I just hope I won't run into any problems with my account and I can have Adval as my nick. :)

I registered a name that seems to be too long, and it didnt show up after I logged into the correct account. I also tried the name without underscores, and it says that it is taken. Who else would choose KillerKommando?

I need to find out how to unlink one of my accounts I made from my CD key anyone know how? I can't get vet status under my account since I made another one and now it is linked to that account making me unable to log into my vet account.

When you retrieve details from the BF2142 screen all it does is send you an email with the names of your accounts. It makes no mention of veteran status, reserved names or unlocks. If you login to EA.com it also has no info on your settings or account names.
I have not found any case of EA actually responding to a support request or of any info about solving veteran name/account problems.
EA offers very little support; they put all their effort into marketing and overseeing the ongoing patch production.
