My fav kit in BF2 was sniper.

The ghillie suit was great, if you knew how to use it effectivly. Hide in plain sight, never use obvious sniper spots, never siloette yourself on hills etc. Heck if you stayed still tanks and noobs could go straight past you. LOL.

Now things are different... Now you stand out like dogs balls (excuse the aussie expression, you yanks will just have to figure that one out ;) )

I find that you have to hide in wreckage or behind small rocks etc. Active camo is meant to compensate for the lack of 'passive' camoflauge.

I think active camo + rdx packs are a fun combo, specially behind enemy lines. Anyway these are just ramblings of a BF2 vet and BF2142 Noob!

Like to hear from other Recon players..

Oh, BTW, don't ya hate yer dog tags being taken!!! Really good incentive to 'not to be knifed' Someone displaying YOUR dogtags

I find that sniping in this game is alot more like using the scout from counter strike, you need to be fast with your shots and then move. Most of the time if your on your side of the 'front lines' you'll be seen and then shot at, so shoot, move to other side of cover, shoot, move, shoot move...continue

The other way to play a sniper is to use the camo to sneak pretty far behind enemy lines, and only shoot at people when their back is turned to you. (if you can get the 1 shot kills even better) Once you shoot hide, then pop back up and finish the 2nd shot for the kill. Since your behind enemy lines most people will run behind cover the wrong direction so you've got a perfect 2nd shot.

You've got to remember to get behind cover, the more cover the better. I find that when im sniping i'm crouching alot more then getting prone.

Lets say you've got some cover, you can crouch behind it and have your gun and head sticking over it, and if your taking fire you can go prone with a push of a button to be safe.

Lets say you've got the same cover, yet your prone next to the side of it, you've got your head, shoulder and gun sticking out and if you start taking fire it'll take a second or two to crawl back into 100% cover.

There is alot of bad snipers out there, pick em off or collect their dogtags for some more fun.

As far as my fav sniper kit, it would have to be standard rifle, cloak and Anti-Infantry Mine

Hope this helps with your sniper shots.
