Boost Mobile Gaming (http://www.boostmobilegaming.com/#sec=feature&subSec=54) has posted their review of Battlefield 2142 recently. They have gave the game an 70/100. Read part of the review below:

Gameplay:
The gameplay in Battlefield 2142 is the same as every other Battlefield game ever played and not a whole lot more. You still choose the class you want to play and your spawn point. The nodes meant for capture may be graphically improved but that's about the only difference.

The addition of the new ranks and unlockables is a nice change but with how long it took to unlock all of the extras in Battlefield 2, you'll start to wonder if they're needed. Sure it's always nice to have more unlockables, but for those who play BF2 on release remember fondly that the series has a history making gamers play a ridiculous amount of time to unlock fairly useless upgrades, Battlefield 2142 takes the the same stance. Although not as tedious as BF2, the new iteration has monotonies of its own.

7/10's for graphics and gameplay seem a bit harsh to me. I also think they failed to see it's a game on the same engine, in relation to BF2 as BF:Vietnam was to BF1942 - so it's not like they promised a completely new game.

And it's hardly a review. If someone hasn't played any BF before, he will not have an idea of what to expect.

"The release of Battlefield 3 is immenint, so I don't recommend this game to anyone but the most diehard players"

What the heck? I think that the site that reviewed it isn't really accurate...

Unless whoever reviewed it ment 'Bad Company' (which isn't coming out for a while, and not even for the computer) I don't think I trust that site....

But, I already bought BF2142, and it rocks! It rocks! *laughs evily*

That review was terrible. It sounded like the writer had no clue about what he was saying and had hardly played 2142. I am enjoying the game and what did he mean by Battlefield 3, it isn't even coming out on the p.c!

Agreed, Perhaps boost mobile should just stick with their cell phones because their reviews are crap. It's not a hard job to get unlocks. Hell, over one day I managed to get 8 unlocks, compared to maybe 2-3 you'd get in BF2. And it looks like they just busted out a thesaurus and sprinkled some words.

I know it's not a hard job, but don't compare it like that to BF2. How many unlocks had BF2 and how many has BF2142? Check it.

I have read MANY reviews of the game just to see what people thought and I have to say that this one is by far the most critical. To save people time on reading this article, let me break it down for you;

"Because EA/DICE used the same BF2 engine, there is nothing new to see. Also, because it is part of a series and acts like that series, there is nothing good here either. If you are a die hard Battlefield fan, nothing I say will change your mind, so go buy the game."

I bought the game and, like all the others, I love its features. Perhaps I am too fanatical.

Should EA have used a newer engine, yea, probably. But I think the gameplay and graphics are very improved from BF2, even if it is the same engine.

I like the new unlock methods, it changes how everyone plays the game just from the fact not everyone will have the same things unlocked. I know the unlocks have helped me play better.

Anyway, decide on your own.
