Stick it to your vehicle - your vehicle now has a enemy vehicle detecting sonar that moves as you do.
FTW !

Place it UNDER your veichle or on a chopper for best effect. Placing it under your veichle prevents it from getting destroyed by enemy tank shells and what not.

sweet, thanks for the tips, sorry did a search before I posted but no results, maybe I searched wrong.
EDIT: what happens if you place it on say a buggy and leave the buggy alone and an enemy comes and takes off in the buggy, you could find out where more of their vehicles are because he might take off towards them, Im gonna try that, enemy sonar vehicle spy, or just place on an enemy tank so you whole team can see where it is.

Can you do this with the heartbeat monitor?

The heartbeat monitor is not a droppable item like the PDS-1 so no.
I've found that some surfaces don't allow for the PDS to broadcast its signal so you'll find that you'll be driving around with a irritating noise and no benefit. Good news though, you can pick it back up from a bad toss with 'g' or the pick up kit key.
Another tip for the PDS, you can deploy more than one at a time. I think I've gotten about 3 up max.

WOw, really, i did not know that. are u sure your first one doesn't get destroyed as soon as the second is deployed?

You can also attach it to enemy vehicles. I stuck it on the leg of an enemy walker and he ran around showing me where all his buddies vehicles were. Pretty handy little device.
Secondly, I have also noticed that you can lay down multiples if you respawn while one is still active.

Heck you don't need to respawn find a crate, find a support willing to earn some rearm points. It takes a while to get back, but its worth it. I just hope people don't see the mini map thing and think its a uav. The occasional soldier might pop up on it, i think it might be because they were in a vechile or statinary gun and jumped out.
Some one should put on the engineer uniform, will give points for ammo. It seems like no one ever pays attention to teammates. I am willing to give people points for giving me ammo, healing me, reviving me, and repairing me. I am also willing to remove your kit with the business end of my kit to do so.

I had one on my jeep when I figured I'd give a teammate a lift. He jumped in, then back out again and shot off my PDS then finally hopped back in. I guess he was just too clever to ride in a 'boobytrapped' car.

Would be funny if you found an armoured group of say 3 tanks 2 apcs and 2 walkers, (it happens) and all got attacked exept for one - the mobile sonar :D

I believe this thing will show pods coming in for a landing. I started noticing this the other night in Sidi.

Hey do you guys realize the PDS is pretty much useless right now because it blocks the UAV from picking up infrantry. So if you put the PDS on a flag, and the commander puts up a UAV on it, no infantry will show up on the UAV.
And if you put it on your vehicle you may pickup other vehicles but may miss that recon standing next to you with a stinky suprise.

I use it on the jet as my own personal vehicle radar. However it will slide off if the jet is put into an extreme manuever

Are you sure your not confusing it with 2 PDS in close proximity?

Yeah, I placed a PDS on a wall, but nothing happened. Then I picked it up and placed it on the ground next to the original location, and it worked.

No try it out whenever commander puts up uav over PDS, infantry WILL be blocked. For testing, I shot the PDS out and infantry suddenly popped up on the UAV.
