Has anyone else had a problem getting their preorder BF2142 from Bestbuy? My brother preordered his as soon as it was available to do so and still hasn't gotten it. Yes, it was shipped standard ground, but it's been "enroute" in the same city for over 3 days now no more than 100 miles away from him. Customer service call for sure if it's not there tomorrow because it's the third Best Buy order I've seen screwed up recently, including another one to my brother.

I canceled mine and got the EA deal instead. But I did get my dog tag and unlock fine, in the mail. If that helps.

ground can take 9 days...
I cancled mine and got EAD also when they put the false date up for release... I bet they lost alot of money over that mistake.

Who is it being sent with? I work for UPS part time, so it would interest me to know where it is going to and from where. It should take roughly 4 days at its longest through UPS. Any longer and something is wrong.

I can also explain the "enroute" thing, see they scan a package before it exits a package hub, sometimes a package will get scanned but not sent on the truck, so the people who scan packages at the next hub will not scan or recieve your package, therefore it is "enroute" though it is still sitting somewhere forgotten.

Your brother's not the only one, biff77. I pre-ordered from BestBuy (online) as well. BestBuy didn't process and ship until noon on the 18th and they used a crappy shipping service called UPS:MI.
Basically BestBuy had UPS come and pick up bulk shipments from their Illinois warehouse, trucked over to a UPS processing center for sorting which they later in turn truck it to a USPS (yep, gov't snail mail) processing center (where they take twice as long as UPS to do). From there, the USPS processing center trucks it over to the their main regional hub in the Midwest (my best guess would be Chicago), where it stays in USPS limbo for 2 days. Then they truck it over to the regional USPS facility that serves your area and take a couple additional days for the neanderthal sorters to figure out where to send your package and to fully fill up the big rig trailers. Once that's done, they haul your precious game to your city (if you live in a small town, then it'll be in a nearby city/town that serves your mail). Now give your local USPS hub to sort, kick your box around a bit and scanned, only to torture you as you constantly track your pacakge online, then they send it off in smaller trucks to their smaller branch offices in your area.
Most likely this is where your brother's (and most likely mine) package is at, "Enroute" to your city, before being scanned and then sent to your local branch office and then finally to you.
Best Buy likes to get really stingy with shipping. If they can save fractions of a penny per package even it means delaying your shipping 4x fold, they'll do it.
If BestBuy went with UPS or FedEx Ground, the packages would've been at our doorsteps at minimum 2 business days, at most 7 business days. I know this from experience because I order so much crap online and I've worked at UPS as a sorter for a summer during college.
I should've just went ahead and bought the game from a BestBuy store on the first day of release and just return the shipped game later on for a refund to my local store. That's what I did when I pre-ordered GuildWars from them when it first came out. I don't know why I'm not doing that now.... maybe it's because it's giving me more time to spend working for money....
Long post/rant over, now go back to your daily lives playing BF2142 or dreaming of playing BF2142 until it finally comes...

The only fault I see in this for UPS is associating themselves with the USPS to do the UPS-MIA thing. It is ridiculous. I really wish Best Buy would have just shipped the dang package straight up UPS ground. And because this is the second issue in about a month my brother has had with Best Buy shipping, I will be very inclined to avoid buying at Best Buy and go to Circuit City and CompUSA instead. This is unacceptable. My girlfriend also had almost the exact same issue with Best Buy's shipping. Best Buy should know better. I am very disappointed in them and my purchase habits are going to reflect this.
