Is there a link between how good you are and if you take the time to register on a 2142 fansite?

And if so, then we are the people who most influence everything that will happen to bf2142.

Oh I am sure that people who visit forums and other resources do a lot better then those who just go in and play a couple rounds without really understanding the background.
People here share a lot of ideas, and I have learned a lot of things in forums. Many of those things I have read or thought about have found their ways into my gameplay.

I think the atmosphere on these boards in infinitely more mature and friendly than the planet battlefield boards and (most definitely) the EA boards so maybe people here generally make the effort to find non-standard boards, hence a better atmosphere.

Not necessarily better players though, I'm rubbish :-)

Perhaps. I've gotten better after reading the forums, as I got hold of a few tips on how to play effectively. I think people generally spoken could get better if they read more on such forums as Totalbf2142. I know that my knifing kills surged to 20 a round from around 5 on titans after reading a few tips.

God No. I only just started playing BF2 a couple of months before BF2142 came out.

I have Round where i seem to kick *** and then others where i run around for ages and then get shot again and again.

People who come on forums tend to be a little better, if only because you can learn a fair bit by reading posts in places like these, even if you think you know everything there is always someone who has a nice tactics/ideas, and the best place to express these is on a forum, so your likely to learn things.

Points and stats are not indicative of skill or even good good gameplay. In fact, thinking that it is, probably is more indicative of the exact opposite.

No, although there are a handful of us who are above the bar *thinking of teknochild and his 6 page award list of which mine dwindles in comparison*

There are no elites in BF2 or 2142 that I've ever encountered, the higher ups with like thousands and thousands of career points shouldn't be considered elite, just faithful gamers who play alot, no doubt a handful of them are also above the bar but the majority just play A LOT.
