I rent a 2142 server from MYIS. They told me that ff=off will automatically turn off the rank system. They said it is a new rule made by EA. But I played on a ff=off server and got badges and points for it. Has anyone heard anything similar?

FF may be set to Auto or on, but not off, that is correct..

I think you may have misread that IS and was thinking about tkpunish.

1.1.2 Though it is not required, we also request that all servers run Friendly Fire at 100% for all settings, including mines (sv.friendlyFireWithMines).

You can turn off FF if you want to.

Ya but all the MyIS guys have xfire and aim and are on a lot, thats even faster lol.

I think FF off is a bit cheap, as there are many ways to exploit the onesidedness, but I'm in support of EA allowing FF off servers to be ranked, since FF off does solve a lot of problems, from malevolent tkers to idiot n00bs who hurt your score by getting tked.

I jumped rank on a FF off titan server earlier. It was amazing. It was a grenade spam fest, and no TKs. :D

I hate TK mode and love FF Off servers. I hope they don't really have something like this in place.

Meh, sounds like a good idea, but yeah I guess that could be considered stat padding.

I think a guy helped me stat pad once without me asking him to. I threw down an ammo hub in the titan, and he started shooting his pistol and reloading. I got a few resupply points, so that was nice.
