* I tried to sort the common issues we are currently experiencing.
* This list will not contain game balance issues, or extremely rare bugs.
* Issues being addressed in the next/current patch are marked by GRAY TEXT, once they are confirmed to be fixed they will be removed from the list.
Bugs
Crashes To Desktop: (02/12/06, v1.06)
Introduce with the latest patches - every now and then the game CTD when joining games (when clicking "done" on the first spawn screen), and sometimes when deploying an SLSB.
Titan Spawn bug: (29/10/06, v1.01)
Every once in a while, a player won't be able to spawn in the titan for the remainder of the map.
Recruit bug: (05/11/06, v1.01)
Occassionally, when joining a server, the player will be shown as recruit rank - sometimes he will get duplicate awards and the points will register, sometimes all his points/awards gained that round will be lost, sometimes he won't have unlocks and sometimes it will just be his rank showing wrong and everything else will work fine.
Duplicate awards: (01/11/06, v1.01)
There have been reported cases of people getting duplicate awards and the new points registering in BFHQ - this bug usually happens when the recruit bug does, but in rare cases not. since it's uncontrollable and unpredictable it's not listed as an exploit.
Random Death: (29/10/06, v1.01)
Sometimes the player dies for no reason, with no message..
Titans shields not taking damage: (30/10/06, v1.01)
Very rarely, one of the titan's shield will be unable to take damage for the remainer of the round, thus making it impossible for the other team to win.
Titan Shield Stuck: (01/11/06, v1.01)

Leaderless Squad Bug: (07/12/06, v1.06)
A bug happening when a player's squad leader leaves but he doesn't get properly promoted to leader - the player can't leave nor manage the squad and can't leave it until the next map is loaded. [01] (http://www.msu.edu/~huynhtho/Image-0286.png) [02] (http://www.msu.edu/~huynhtho/Image-0287.png)
Glitches & Lags
Instant Spawn on connect: (13/01/07, v1.10)
Sometimes, when disconnecting from a server, and joining another server with the same map - will result in an instant spawn with assault kit (with the last used loadout) without giving the player a chance to configure his loadout or choose his spawn point.
Knife not registering: (13/01/07, v1.10)
The laggier a player's connection, the higher the chances his knife hits won't register damage.
Odd drones tracking in titans: (01/11/06, v1.01)
Often the drones inside titans aim through walls, and their shots ricochetes will appear on the other sides of the walls.
Mech Slide: (30/10/06, v1.01)
A mech will occasionally not stop when the forward key is released and continue sliding for a while - which will be seen to the driver as sliding on ice. (no walk shake)
Outside players apparently will not notice anything out of the ordinary.
Mech Dance: (30/10/06, v1.01)
Occassionally a mech will shake making it harder to aim or spot enemies, it is fixed by re-entering it.
Gameplay
Wrong award requirements - Ground Base Medallion: (30/10/06, v1.01)

Wrong award requirements - Aerial Service Badge: (30/10/06, v1.01)

Wrong award requirements - Silver Titan Destruction: (31/10/06, v1.01)
Can only be achieved by destroying console 3/4 - destroying the actual core as the description says will not award this badge. [01] (http://www.totalbf2142.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=326&d=1162309583)
AA/SAAW Lockon problem: (30/10/06, v1.01)
A very common problem, where the AA lock doesn't display on a certain enemy transport - sometimes (but not always) followed by the rocket not homing. [01] (http://www.svartberg.com/misc/bf2142/BF2142 - Bugs - AA Lockon.avi)
SAAW missile doesn't home : (16/11/06, v1.01)
Occassionally when using the SAAW after locking to an aircraft, some of the missiles will go straight and not home to the aircraft at all.
Commander console delay: (30/10/06, v1.01)
Information such as shields/assets/squads status, may have a delay in their update - it might be as small as a few seconds, and it might be as long as the entire round - for example it might show the shields in a certain level, while outside the command-console the player would see the true status.
It's not just an interface issue because this can cause in extreme cases - the inability to issue commands to squads, because the interface lists them as dead instead of alive. Can't issue Titan attack/defense commands from maps: (29/10/06, v1.01)
The only way to issue these commands is by using the ingame 3d map and issuing a command on the titan icon - using the command map as a commander/squadleader will result in the order appearing on the ground below.
Vehicle registering Mine kills: (05/11/06, v1.01)
When a player's gets an explosive mine kills, but is in a vehicle - it will register it as a vehicle kill instead, thus making respective pins and badges harder to achieve.
PDS interfering with UAV: (15/11/06, v1.01)
Placing an engineer PDS will interfere with commander/squadleader UAV's all over the map - causing no enemy infantry to show up.
Odd TK penalties: (05/11/06, v1.01)
Sometimes using the SL drones while riding a vehicle, and dropping a medic/supply crate near a friendly sentry gun will cause constant team vehicle damage.
Interface
Customization doesn't save between games: (30/10/06, v1.01)
According to the ingame tips, the last kit inventory customization is supposed to be saved, however they only stay until the player quits the game.
Odd items sorting: (30/10/06, v1.01)
The numeric keys for the items can get switched depending on the weapon used - for example if the assault choose an unlock weapon instead of a default one it will switch his items.
False Kill messages: (30/10/06, v1.01)
Occasionally a player will get a message that he was killed - however he's still alive, and fortunatly that kill message doesn't appear on the upper left messages, or change his stats in any way. Confusing Supply Indicator: (01/11/06, v1.01)

Confusing Repair Chargebar : (01/11/06, v1.01)
The engineer repair bar is full when started, goes down to the middle and then get's filled up again - making it confusing and hard to understand the actual position. [01] (http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/2014/interfacerepairchargebaji5.jpg)
Respawn menu interrupt: (20/11/06, v1.01)
When the 15 spawn seconds are over, the game will force players out of the command screen to spawn. (often while in the middle of things like inviting people to squads, etc); and will also interrupt people still using the customization screen - switching them to support kit customization. Revive menu clattering: (30/10/06, v1.01)
When revived and in a menu, the game will close the menu only to reopen it again after a moment, obscuring the player's view who's supposed to look for cover.
Screenshot color glitch: (30/10/06, v1.01)

Zeller scope on medium/lowend systems: (20/11/06, v1.01)

Controls customization not saving: (30/10/06, v1.01)
Sometimes when the controls are changed they will not be saved. it will work after trying a few times, especially if the back key is pressed instead of another options item.
Black Titan for lowend systems: (07/12/06, v1.06)

Missing nametag: (23/12/06, v1.10)

* Do not discuss the exact triggering of exploits, however reporting the exploits through their effects is welcome.
Exploits
Transport Core Nuke: (13/01/07, v1.10)
Exploit allowing players to "push" friendly transports into their own core room, resulting in titan destruction.
Speedy Missile Silo: (13/01/07, v1.10)
Exploit allowing commanders to launch several missiles per second from a silo.
Rare & Minor Bugs
Favorites refresh problems: (13/01/07, v1.10)
The favorite servers will usually not refresh and/or appear down when they're not.
Faulty supply drops: (26/12/06, v1.10)
Sometimes if you drop supplies as a commander nothing happens, but the timer resets and starts counting down.
Spinning Map: (26/12/06, v1.10)
On rare occassions the dynamic minimap spins at dizzing speeds nonstop until a respawn/map change.
Conquest Serverfilter Bug: (26/12/06, v1.10)
A bug which occurs when using an advanced serverlist with a conquest serverfilter - a failed connection will always force-change the filter to conquest-coop.
Endless Sound Loop: (22/12/06, v1.10)
Existing since BF2, on rare occassions a sound will loop endlessly - for example a medkit patch sound or a gun shoot.
Sometimes it will go away after doing the action that triggered the sound again, or respawning.
Need to re-enter password on disconnection: (30/10/06, v1.01)
If you're disconnected from master server, the key buffer adds characters into the password field forcing you to re-enter the password.

In many rounds I get the messages like "you have been killed by player ...." but I am not dead and the player who should have killed me was not even in range of me (e.g. I was sitting on flight deck in my titan with full shields up).
This must be some sort of bug, but I dont know the exact circumstances of this behavior occuring.
Edit:
2 titans on top of each other on both sides. This sucks bc you cant even fly away with a gunship, I saw this once happen too.

I hear the chick on the intercom say enemy in core room sometimes when
consoles are still up, - i think this is ppl falling through the floor or the
transport bug that ends up with ppl in the core.
I didnt see "Being able to enter console rooms 3 and 4 before 1 or 2 are
destroyed" bug here either

I have noticed this too, next time it happens (probably next round) i'll take extra notice, make a screenshot and add it to the list here, thanks :)

- repair animation not always playing

- Enemy tank firing animation and shell sometimes do not occur when an enemy tank fires but you will still take damage.
* that happens because of lod's or lag compensation, sometimes the animations are skipped to save on resources.

No, I dont use anything but the original game files. It got that strange that I received this killmessages multiple times in a row without dying once in reality, but each time with another playername as the potential killer.

2 bugs in commander map:
- The shield and hull levels of the titans on the top of the screen are
not refreshed when the commander uses the commander screen. You have
to turn off and on the commander screen to refresh the icons.
- Sometimes when one or more commander assets are destroyed it doesn't
show in the commander screen. You have to zoom in and out to actually
change the colour indicating that they are destroyed. (this happend in BF2 after the last patch also)

1. Crash to Desktop: I haven't noticed a specific cause or time, but it happens often. Also happens a lot during map change. Is there a way to turn on or find a log after a CTD so we can figure out what went wrong?
2. HUD/Menu graphical glitch: This happens to me probably once every 45 minutes or so, the fonts in the game menu turn to black boxes, and the menu it's self changes colors and becomes unreadable. Often times this is followed by the HUD completely disappearing.

You might have a hardware/drivers issue ... i hear of these issue with some of ati's driver version ...
I recommend you check your graphic card temperatures though, cause you might be frying your card without noticing :hmm:

(1)Not being able to spawn on the Titan sometimes (no spawn point available).
(2) Engineers AA gun (saw I think the name is), does not lock on to targets happend more then not yesterday to me.
(3) When repairing the cannons on the titan sometimes theres a big delay with no repair points then next time you get 3 repair points in quick succession.
(4) Sometimes when repairing the cannons on the titan and they get distroyed but you continue to repair it locks in with the distroy sound and smoke and the game slows down really bad.
(5) Browser not updating correctly (showing servers with spaces to join but are full even after refresh, same with empty servers not being empty).
(6) Browser not keeping mouse settings for forward and backwards (have to re-enter them everytime I join).
(7) Dead servers staying in the list (RED) even after refresh.
(8) Most of the other bugs mentioned in here.
All in all most of the bugs that where still unfixed in BF2 + others.

Alt tab locks up the game for all those that Used EA Downloader instead of buying the DVD/CD. Did a check and anyone who was having issues all used the EA downloader and those that don't have problems all bought the Game Disc.
Is a pain when trying to admin a server till they get ingame commands implemented.

- EXTREMLY laggy @ the Titan!!!
- Punkbuster kicks without any reason, randomly? *Fix availble. Doesn't help for all.
- Punkbuster error. With recommendation reinstall punkbuster!
- Teamkill when a teammate walks right into a Walker(with 2ppl in it) that stands still.
- Big map remains after you been brought back to live and does not dissapear unless press the squad tab key twice.
- Floating corps, dead soldiers moving/floating on the floors of the titan.
- Unable to put squad beacon on titan.
- Support gunturret moves when deployed on titan.
- Support gunturret fires trough wall of the titan, the bullets does not give damadge on other side of the wall but is visible.
- Support gunturret fires on enemies not visible, enemy can be on totally diffrent flor or on another side of the wall.
- Able to deploy lots of C7(10+) but then not able to switch to the remote to fire it off.
- Able to jump from platforms without geting hurt if at the moment you land presses jump button and make a new small jump when you land, no health lost. (no parachute)
- Moonwalking/floatin walkers.
- Unable to advance in rank even if you have the points for it. *Fix availble.
- Weapons sound keep on fireing, same bug as in BF2.
- CTD. *Fix availble.
- CTD... not Windows KBXXXX related.
- EA masterserver disconnect.
- Antitank fly through vehicles, not always but it happens
- Auto spawn even if the squadscreen up.
- New spawned vehicle, APC, can't be moved it's stucked!
- Not possible to Alt + tab and then Alt + tab back to the game all times.
The wanted Feature list:
- Possiblity to see info about the server your friends at the buddylist are playing at.
- When planting C7 on the Titans core, it would be nice to have some command in the Q-menue where you could warn fellow teammates about coming explosion.
- Abillity to clear server history and remove server favorits(or is't possible?)
Has anyone seen unlimited Silo firing. i seen it the other day Suez canal map. I dont know if this was a hack or a exsploit. Commander keepted dropping supply box's around it. The other teams titan was dead in like 10 minutes

I think this needs changing from 'rarely' to 'frequent'. I can guarentee that in a 3 rounds per map server at least 1 of those I will suffer the above bug.

Titan destrution achievement badge, i ve destroyed couple of cores but i didnt received this badge although ive met the requirements, but suddenly when i destroyed on of the last consoles i was awarded.
Screenshot included, notice that enemy titan isnt destroyed at all, only consoles are.

Rare Bug
On camp gilbrator I spawned at the second spawn point from the top on the EUs side only too find myself surrounded by walls on all sides. No it was not a spawn beacon. The area of the space was only about a 4/2 square foot area. I found no way to get out and eventually had to sucicde but the problem did not occur again

happened to me only twice in 41 hours of playing, that's why i listed it as rare.

The area of the space was only about a 4/2 square foot area. I found no way to get out and eventually had to sucicde but the problem did not occur again
things like this are nearly impossible to recreate, especially since you said it only happened to you once - i'll list it once other people report it. (which would mean it's probably a map bug)

This is because the game considers accessing the spawn screen when joining as if you were dead. If you are dead, you cannot select a squad or join a new squad after leaving one. This hails back to the BF2 days to an exploit called "Squad Hopping". So, this is not a bug. It was intentionally implemented into 2142 to address an issue back in BF2.

When you get the recruit bug, it's just like playing on an unranked server ... none of those stats save ...
And on the bright side, we should be grateful, because if they would be saved we would all become recruits again :)
So for now get used to press tab when you join a server and check if you got this bug, and that reminds me to update this into the bug list.

Can't get more ammo to Pilum H-AVR. This has happened few times to me. Engineer can't get more ammo to AVR from commanders supply box or supports ammo box. Seems to happen more often in Titan maps, but it maybe that I'm more likely to use lots of ammunition in Titan maps.
Two examples:

Is it a bug that the assault under-gun grenade launcher doesn't explode half the time? Also, do these kills not show up in your stats? I forget what the name of the rocket attachment is, but when I looked, it says 0 shots fired, 0 kills, 0 acc.

I have, same thing...supply boxes kept coming down and the missile launched at least 7 times. Titan was done right off the bat.
My squad and I held that spawn point for two different runs of 7 missiles.

Im unable to get the Explosive Efficiency Pin or the Bronze Commander Excellence Badge.
Its not a one time occurance no matter how many times I've met or exceeded the requirements I just could not get either of these.

Occasionally the walker will opt to shift from side to side, as though it is walking in place, making it difficult to shoot even when you are trying to stand still. You can solve this by getting out and then getting back in.

I've done this, but it was more of a clipping issue than shooting through titan walls. I was at the window section in the rafters of the titan as Support, and an opponent was in the opposite window. I put some shots into him and he went prone, but I could see parts of his body sticking through the wall. I shot those parts and killed them.

You know, I should comment that the repair, medic, or ammo 'circular progress bar' doesn't fill up properly when you're fixing things - while it should move in a circle, for me it moves as through a square is being passed through it. The end result is a full circle, but it gets wierd about 3/4ths of the way through.

There is a lot of ways you cannot be punished by retarded player who do not care what is going around him ie Commander cannot be punished for airstrike, recon cannot be punished for exping his team members BUT support can be punished for killing team members by his dumb sentry gun.
Support is also unable to pickup his own sentry gun which already fires even single round. If he tries to blow his own sentry gun, he receive two team vehicle damage punish.

Has anyone experienced an issue when you change the class you wish to be once you die and upon respawning you have the kit you died with? (Not after being revived.) Has happened to me a couple of times. And I am certain that I changed classes! Or perhaps I am just getting old :confused:
Seen the twin titans bug but the round didn't have enough players to officially start. Also have encountered an unability to spawn on own titan on numerous occasions. Often just leave and rejoin fixes it, but annoying all the same.

There is a movie on YouTube showing how to do this. In the notes it shows you have to turn your hacks on and be commander with unlimited supply drops to a silo that your team has control of. Just another sign that hacks are already prevalent in this game.

As for the clipping issues - hell i've even seen someone pass through the walls 3 days ago, but i think a lot of titan bugs appear because of the movement lag glitch.

It's not a bug, Rockets have a minimum range of 20m - the bright side is you can control when they explode, so you can take people behind shields, behind covers, on roofs, etc ...
Can't get more ammo to Pilum H-AVR. This has happened few times to me. Engineer can't get more ammo to AVR from commanders supply box or supports ammo box. Seems to happen more often in Titan maps, but it maybe that I'm more likely to use lots of ammunition in Titan maps.
Two examples:

This could be a bug, but it could also be someone else picking up your kit and switching what you had with what they had. I haven't noticed an increase in ammo from being revived - I've even died in the hopes of getting more ammo by respawning and being frustrated when I get picked up by friendlies. :)

- As for the order problem, i thought once they stop the titan movement after shields are down it would be fixed - but you are right it won't. (so i should add this)

- Accipiter needs to be triggered by spotting enemies and looking at them, either by leader or the squad mates. (i actually heard it only reacts to diamonds from netbet, but dunno - don't really use it)

Destroying the Titan's Upper Consoles (3&4) before the lower ones?
Was playing on a server last night and my squad was defending Console 1 and noticed that consoles 3 and 4 were blown up while we were still defending console 1 (Yes it was not blown up yet either).
I round I went to the Console 3 hallway before it was blown up to see a few enemy's standing outside the shielded door hitting the console somehow. I tried it later on and could not shoot or frag though it.
This was the first time I seen this happened and it happened every round as well. Not sure if it was friendly sabatoge or the other team found a way to get around the

1) You can seemingly knife someone from 5-7 feet away, I did 8x in a row yesterday, running around being shot at, not being killed and just swinging the knife and stabbing people from WAY over what should be the distance for a kill.
I didn't mind because I got the kills, but it has happened to me and got real annoying.
2) EA/DICE also mention that it is not recommended for Titan mode over 48 people, but I was on a 32 player and as soon as the Titan started moving, while defending the core, I was slipping through walls while crouching. It didn't happen when I was prone or standing.
3) Talon vs. Doragon: I was playing against the Talon and most of my missiles flew right past him, after his defenses were put up. I never have this problem when flying the Talon. If I'm about 20-30 feet behind him, it doesn't seem to be an issue. It reminds me of the lock-on issues between the j10 and f35b in Battlefield 2.
4) This isn't really a bug, more of a complaint: The game was definitely not made for colour blind folk, as the two faction colours look almost the same. Red and blue could have stayed, they are very distinguishable. But I guess that's something that will never get changed.

ok. i know that some have already posted some of these but i'll just do it anyway.
-sometimes you can knife a guy a hundred times but still he's not dying. (same as bf2)
-when the titan is moving sentury guns and people are sliding and glitching all around the titan!
-when you detonate a c7 you drop another one instead and you offen get shoot at that time. (same as bf2)
-when a heli/plane/strange-looking-flying-hot-dog-booth gets upside down your only chance is to loop which is extremely hard at times.
-sometimes you need to destroy 5 titan guns instead of 4 to get the titan destructor pin.
-Offen the missiles fiered from an attack heli will not follow, or even atempt to follow the enemy heli.
-once my friend got a positive bug, he was trying to destroy a console himself as support when suddenly he's overupheating system dissapeared.. he could shoot and shoot and nothing could stop him.
also since dice might be reading this:
-i get 78% of my tk's in the enemy titan when trying to blow up some consoles or the core. tk should be OFF in the titan. no mather server rules.
-THE FRIGGING ACTIVE CAMO SUCKS! your even move visible and everybody can hear you. and sneak up on someone and knife them? you get knifed yourself that way! it should be a little visible, but come on! and the sound? a litte? ok....... A LITTLE! man...

Field unlocks:
After you unlock a field unlock and use it in a game; If you get disconnected from the game via EA- when you reconnect, the unlocks are still shown on your loadouts, but you do not have them.
EX:
1- unlock a field unlock, I select EMP mines for engineer.
2- I then select CUSTOM on the loadout screen and add the EMP mines to the engineer kit.
3- 10 minutes later, I get disconnected from the EA which forces me to drop from the game.
4- once I reconnect to the same gameserver, the engineer kit still shows the EMP mines, but the kit does not have them; nor am I able to unselect the EMP mines

I have encountered something similiar to the red name tag glitch
It wasnt exactly like the red name tag but instead no name tag whatsoever showed up above the player I circled around them just to make sure and there was nothing there
In addition I have reencountered the trapped area glitch for spawning on a SL in Camp Gilbrator This time I spawned underneath a building and once again had a small area I could move around while prone but couldnt escape and had to sucicde

Don't know if this has been mentioned but...
When the game minimizes, 9/10 times it can't be maximized correctly and you are forced to close the game process via the taskmanager.
When logging in after logging out recently, the game turns into a black screen with some of your desktop showing and the game process must be closed via the task manager.

This has happened to me a few times as well. I've got a screen shot from last night if anyone wants to see it.
Some things I noticed:
- it happened to a squad mate (I don't know if this is significant)
- nobody else in my squad could see his name tag either
- it lasted until the end of the round
On a similar note, it sometimes takes far too long for enemy name tags to appear. In some cases, the tag appears only when I "spot" them.

1. An individual was sniping from a catwalk in the supply dock, but the cat walk he was on was in back against the Core bulkhead.

Someone said that when you join a server you can't join a squad because it counts you as dead. This is not true. If you join a server you can pick a squad before spawning. And I've had the glitch that doesn't let you do that happen to me as well.
There is a glitch in the walls at consoles three and four on the EU titan. I know how to use it, but I don't abuse it. I've seen quite a few people do it though.
Most of these glitches have happened to me.
Oh, and I just thought of a new one. Sometimes, a claymore will explode but not kill you. No idea how, but it happens to me sometimes.

When using the Baur, and selecting the Rockets, aiming through the scope will not automatically set the approximate range for you. However in the Scar and PAC assault weapon it does.

This is not the place to explain how to do exploits - especially since we still got a few weeks until it gets patched.
Trust me, keep playing and you're bound to spot something out of the ordinary sooner or later ;)
Mentioned this in a post yesterday, and this morning it was annoying the hell out of me. I was picking off enemies at over 300 yards, metres (whatever the rifle measures) with well placed headshots. Yet for the past few days i have attempted stupidly close headshots which pretty much always miss the target by simply hitting the wall/floor behind the head.
I'm seriously getting fed up of this problem as my accuracy suffers greatly and i give myself away when the target should be dead. It only appears to happen at close range though 50 and under..
(This problem does not occur 100% of the time, but its certainly near 80% and oddly enough i only get this problem with the Zeller-H)

I have noticed now on several occasions the red diamond that shows up around enemys that have been spotted by squadmates sometimes does not disappear. It only happened on one server but several other people mentioned seeing it too. Inaddition on that server enemy infantry would sometimes flash for a second in one area where no infantry had been. This also was mentioned by others

There is a bug in the award system. I got my pistol bronze and that i did the requirements to get my silver. But I was aware with it but its not showing up in the BFHQ and its been a week now. And also with the Titan badge to destroy 2 Titan consoles I did that as was award with the badge but its not in my BFHQ!

Same problem here. This last week I got my Titan Destructor Silver Badge, Wheels Of Hazzard pin, Troop Transport pin, Explosive Efficiency pin & tons of Combat Efficiency's, & Distinguised Combat Efficiency's, but they haven't shown up in my BFHQ. I get awarded the points ok, the award just doesn't ever show. So if I am reading correctly, you can re-earn the award and get the points again?
Did not manage to see this one on the list (at work so had to rush anyway).
Basically when in a Titan and looking into the reactor room from the vent windows directly opposite it. You cannot see people at the rear of the reactor room (near the force fields). You can see people running around at the mouth of the reactor door but as soon as they go nearer to the rear they vanish.
Of course this is frustrating to anyone defending (like myself) sniping from the vent windows. The distance is not that far yet they cannot be seen. Sure you see the red diamond but you can't tell whether they are prone or standing to shoot...
Most annoying.

- Punkbuster disconnects player after Warning about PB installation error.
Nothing wrong with installation and PB is up to date when running manually update.
- Big map remains after you been brought back to live and does not dissapear unless press the squad tab key twice. Really annoying if its combat action near you...
- Able to jump from platforms without geting hurt if at the moment you land presses jump button and make a new small jump when you land, no health lost, no parachute deployed.
- New spawned vehicle, APC, can't be moved it's stucked!
- Able to deploy lots of C7(10+) but then not able to switch to the remote to fire it off.
- Gunturret disaperaing through titan floor instead of exploding.
- Unable to lift off with transportplane that has been moved backwards on the titan(tail gets stucked). Have screen home post it later...
...and I really hope the spawn exploit will be fixed since it's so easy to use!

The beacon problem goes away if you leave the squad and rejoin. It can come back in the same round though.

It happens when somebody activates the PDS-1, It takes over the commanders UAV for some reason. Doesn't look like its suppose to.

Ye, i forgot to add this one.
I never experienced this myself so can't write much about it - does it :
1. Cancel the entire commander UAV, or only canceles the area where the PDS and UAV overlaps ?
2. Only interferes for the squad whose engineer is on, or inteferes for the entire team ?
For now i'll just write that it interferes with it.

Has anybody experienced a player actually being inside a box/crate/building where they can shoot out, but you can't shoot them?

Its doesn't cancel the UAV, you see the radar but nothing is detected by it.
What happened to me .I was commanding somebody used their PDS-1 on a vehicle. PDS-1 completely took over all radar contacts. I tried to deploy UAV and saw PDS-1 radar contacts, but when my UAV was initiated and had ZERO contacts, but I knew there was contacts because I just did a scan. So what happens on commander screen is I see PDS-1 radar and UAV radar but nothing shows up on UAV radar.

Different places. PDS-1 was attached to a car/buggy. I mean a 2142 volkswagon.

found a new one someone was doing today as i was running through my titan to the helicopter deck (thats what i like to call it) you know how there's shield for console 4 but you can only acsess console 4 once you blow up console 2? well i caught someone simply running up to the wall beside the shield to console 4 and jump right through it into console 4

GryVulpine, I did have the magic bullets coming out of a wall at me last night. On Shuhia Tubia, I was attacking the silo closes to PAC ground base (titan start point). There is a buliding there with a 90* shaped drive through corridor. Well, there was a support guy and a engineer sporting a HVAR that were inside the wall facing this silo. Silo4 on my map last night. After being killed there 3 times in my hovertank, I approached cautiously. Looking right at the wall, HVAR rounds just start materializing from this buildings wall. There was nobody there though. I have gone back and looked at that building now and can't figure it out. I fired at the wall and hit nothing, but the HVAR rounds kept coming. What a lame way to loose a silo.
Glitch or annoyance number 2: My brother and I like to play in the same squad and we sit at comps right next to eachother. This Makes for very easy communications and should ensure better squad effficiency. Well, when opperating on the same team his silo numbers on his map dont correspond to the numbers on my map about half of the games we play together. This really makes for a confusing game when we fly air support missions.

I would like to add the SAAW anti air weapon bug. Where sometimes even if it does lock on, the missiles will not track the target at all.

Only way to spawn is to call up the map screen once more, wait for it to zoom in completely, then close it again.
(edit: by "zoom in" I mean: wait for the map's slide-in effect to finish completely).
Minor compared to some other problems, maybe, but it annoys the hell out of me :)

anyone have any issues using esc key to get out of game. The other night every time I hit the esc key screen would flash and nothing would happen. Would not go to BFHQ screen. After hitting the button a few times the game crashed.

You missed out on an important bug/problem.
You cannot see anything on the Titan if you have lighting on low, you must have it on medium or high(er).

URGH! I hate that glitch, it always clicks to the support kit! I never play that kit! It's similar to a glitch in BF2 where you spawn sometimes as assault even if you have selected another kit.

That's specific to a person's computer. I personally play on all low on my laptop; instead of not seeing anything, soldier textures are light blueish until I get closer to them (maybe 10m).

The phantom teamkills pissed me off the other morning. I was defending the titan and went to set to APM's at near the ramps in the cargo bay. Well i got killed after setting the 2nd one, but was thankfully revived. Without firing a single round yet, I hurried into the reactor core for a resupply hub and then see team kill posted twice on my screen. I didn't think APM's could teamkill, but I have only played this game for a little less than 3 weeks. My number of teamkills is very low and before I could ask what happened in this case an admin kicked me from the server. What a way to lose a game in which I and my squad had performed well.

1- CTD after titan mode round
2- BFHQ status is not working all my socre rank are set as a recruit.
3- DC from EA master server.
4- I have been killed by a silo missile while I was inside the cargo area in enemy titan ( I was all alone I swear ).
5- EA screwd up.
6- DICE recruiting new staff.
I guess EA server needs a supplies crate beside it.

Since 1.05 installed.
1) Some silos not showing numbers until taken (used to be grey number before taken)
2) I was in AA yet still getting Inside Titan sounds and when titan blewup I died even though I was on the ground in AA (DaDDeh is no more msg so I was not shot).
3) Unable to take a opposition silo (6 team members round the flag no oppostion and it still would not change), as in the unable to capture the flag bug in BF2.
4) End of round CTD in Titan mode

I had a really strange thing happen to me the other day. We were playing Tunis Harbour, i was in a squad, and when ever i tried to respawn on my squad leader (the green circle in the map), i would spawn on one of the enemies squads. I assume it was the enemy squad leader i was spawning on. He was driving a vehicle and when i spawned it was like i was spawning into the backseat of the enemies car. but it wouldnt let me. So i would spawn, and then see him drive away and im sitting there going... what the hell, why am I at the enemies uncap. And before i could figure out what was going on i would get shot. It happened twice to me

The idea of this list is to have issues which most players encounter several times throught their game history and hinder the steady flow of gameplay.
Extremely rare bugs won't be listed - since they are too hard to reproduce and find their source and would therefore be unlikely to ever get fixed by Dice Live.

Ever since I installed 1.05, I can't log on to any servers because it says I have modified content. I have now completely uninstalled and re-downloaded (for the 10th time!!!) the game and re-patched it with 1.06. Same thing. This is a joke.
When I install it comes up with an MD5 error on the kits.zip. Every time after I download it, there are different errors on different .zip files. Previously, when I talked with someone at EA about this, they said that MD5 errors occur because of a problem with the download. I have disabled every process in task manager I possibly can when I am downloading. This seems to help because there are fewer MD5 errors now on install but even ONE can cause me to not be able to login to a server now since 1.05. I have a feeling this EA Link is causing it and the only way that I am going to play this game again is if I purchase the discs and there is no way I am giving EA another $50.
So if anyone has any other ideas as to what might be causing this problem logging in I would appreciate it. I refuse to uninstall, re-download and re-install. I am done with that. Kinda got old after the 5th time.

There is no representation of the enemy troops or vehicles....It happens about 1/4 of the time to me in Conquest mode. It seems there is always a signal somewhere else on the map that looks like the UAV signal. What is causing this ? Will it be fixed ?

is it just me...or is 1.06 buggier than what it was before? I've tried 3 different servers and I got disconnected 3 times in 15 minutes...1 with the master server connection has been lost...and 2 others with a general your connection has been lost...
also I too get the uav scan sometimes doesn't display for commander bug too

Thers is a bug - you can earn more than 2 "Titan distructor pin" in a round, after you have distructed 8 titan guns, EXP dont more given to you. That way you can't earn a 3rd or more of these pins....:(

It's not a bug, it was made on purpose by Dice for several reasons.

The medal is APC+Tank+Walker hours, the badge is Tank only.
I checked your profile, you go around half an hour in your armor badge so it only displayed 0/25.

With version 1.06, a couple nights ago, I was laying prone in the reactor room defending. Some how, I ended up in the hallway near one of the blown out consoles. There must still be some sort of bug about passing through walls or something?

I've seen them watching this thread a few times - the question of how reliable they consider it is something only they can answer.
I have yet to see a more comprehensive BF2142 issue list online, so they better be lookin here :p

I dont know if this is considered an exploit, cause I barely see anyone using it I just recently discovered it. When your squad leader has their drone out and u throw an emp grenade at him the drone drops to the ground, if he jumps on it he well start hovering and then reaching altitudes of 2000+. I found this out by accident but I did see a guy use it on fall of berlin when there were snipers on the monorail with a beacon up their and apm mines were planted at the ladder so no way of getting up there, he used that exploited and dropped right ontop of them.

pathetic, yet somehow enjoyable. Quite a feat, really.
It's because they don't properly test the game. Most good MMO's for example have a very long testing period. It's a shame they don't employ the same principles here.

Then you didn't look well enough, because someone replied with the answer - and it's also in the list.
It's a known bug where someone deploys a PDS (engineer's vehicle UAV), it will screw up the commander UAV and cause it not to pick anything.

I really hate this one, scaning is almost impossible once someone puts it down. :(
Yesterday I encountered a bug where the game constantly kept telling me that I was killed, either by Teammates or Enemys, yet it does not count as a kill for them when I looked at the scoreboard. This only happened once on a Suez Canal round. Pretty annoying I must say. :hmm:
Also, when they do "kill" me, it would go Somebody[Teamkills]Micster or Somebody[Kills]Micster, depending on which side "killed" me. :P

The engineer kit has an item called the PDS, when used - it deploys and acts as a UAV only for vehicles.
However, there's a bug with this item - it will cause the problem you exprienced - the commander's UAV no working.
So basically as long as someone in your team uses this item, your commander UAV will not pickup enemies.
Sorry but i can't make a more clear response than that.

The other day i played on suez canal and i hid under a bridge and i could see through the bridge as if the bridge wasnt there,but people on the bridge couldnt see me (at least they didnt attack me or didnt act like they could see me)
After studying this for a bit (still under the invisible bridge) a vehicle came over the bridge! and it roadkilled me :)

As a squad leader I can never spawn on my beacon... The rest of my squad can.
Sometimes if I leave it out in the open (where everyone can see it) I can, but not often.

My bug list:
- Turret still shooting through wall on Titan
- PDS nullifying UAV and other detection units
- Right canon gun of the EU transport not doing any damage
- Locks on Transports not always shows up
- Gunship rolling upside down when taking off
- Customizing your character and the Support kit popup in the middle
- UAV or Sattrack command goes off after a second of deployment
- Throwing an RDX and pulling on the detonator will throw another RDX instead
- Reloading twice instead of once
- Sometime firing a rocket you hear the sound but no projectile
- Fix the requirements of time usage of hubs and repair tool to show correctly
- Fix the display of the Titan shields and Hull integrity to show properly when in commander mode
- Getting in a game and your rank is not shown properly
- CTD CTD CTD CTD... Heck I got more CTD now than I had in the game release and BF2 together.
- FIX THE DAMN ALT-TAB, I get often bothered on instant messages I have to alt-tab, but alt tabbing back is 80% impossible for me. I have to quit or kill the game application, registering also automaticaly a Loss...

The beacon is there, but has red around it. This red never goes away.
That's what i thought - the beacon has to have a clear view to the sky, or you won't be able to spawn on it.
Your squadmates can spawn directly over you (even without a beacon), so i assume that's why you saw them spawning fine.
After deploying the beacon, you can click "enter" to see if you can spawn on it or not - and if not, pick it back up (by pressing "g") and deploy it somewhere else.

Bug list for me:
- CTDs when clicking Join Game
- Support customation pop-up
- PDS jamming the UAV
- Sentry gun turret still fireing thru the walls in the Titan
- SAAW Anti-Air not locking onto transport ships
- Not able to spot while Sat-Tracking the battlefield

How about this bug, or whatever. Flashing menus. I cant read anything they say and I get a good 100FPS in the menu screen. But gameplay works, other than no crosshairs, but I dont know if I should be having crosshairs should I? So anyone have any ideas for this flashing menu thing?

That's not a game bug, but rather a problem with your rig.
You might want to change you graphic drivers, and make sure you use directX 9.0c or something.

Note that there's only one person in the squad, I can't leave the squad, there's no "manage" button. I don't see people joining the squad, but I do see them leaving.

Well, my drivers should be good, I just downloaded them. I have vista RC1 and that may be the reason, but I think the box said its compatible with vista. My card is a geforce 7900gs so that should be able to support it easily on medium at least. You guys have any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Aye, the master list is updated regulary.
I only add significant bugs which multiple users exprience (extremely rare/insignificant bugs aren't listed), if it's reproducable i make sure to confirm the bug ingame myself. (currently i have confirmed the entire list)
I will add a version number for each bug sometime this week, but as for dates i'll probably only add those for new ones.

I've had the following in patch 1.06 (so you can change these from v1.01 to v1.06):
-Recruit bug (with unlocks, no duped awards)
-Duplicate awards (basic badges & one ribbon)
-CTD when clicking "Join Game" and placing a SLSB
-A-12s shooting through titan walls
-Mech Slide
-AA lock-on problem (transport aircraft)
-Vehicle registering kill when it was a mine
-PDS-1 messing up UAV
-Customization not saved after quit
-Odd item sorting
-Password not saved (don't really know why, it seems random for me)
-Medic (healing) Silver/Gold badges still show 2 x assault hours
-Ground Base Medallion (I got it at ~75-100 repairs)
-Respawn menu interruption (switching to support)
-Zeller scope is hard to see with on low settings
-Confusing repair charge bar
-Resupply/heal/repair circle thing gets "stuck" for a bit at 60%
(not on list)
-Titan black inside; happened to me when I have lighting on low, but dynamic lighting & shadows on low (instead of off)
btw, the screenshot of the bug that the corridor force fields don't open is in friendly titan at console 3. Only console 2 of friendly titan is destroyed, so only the force field for 4 will be open.

Not sure if this has been said but it happens in all versions.
If you're disconnected and reconnect to the same server, the server assumes you never left and treats you as simply dead.
As a result, you can not (re)join a squad when you reconnect until you spawn.

Note that there's only one person in the squad, I can't leave the squad, there's no "manage" button. I don't see people joining the squad, but I do see them leaving.

I get that as well. Not sure what causes it. Sometimes if I commit suicide it works, but other times it doesn't. When the map ends, and a new map is loading it works fine.

what does this mean exactly?
If you click the little Medic badge (the one for healing) in BFHQ, it says "Medic pack time" (or something like that). The hours that it shows there are twice as much as your "assault kit time" hours. Say you've played assault for 10 hours, the "Medic pack time" will be 20 hours. Now, if you attempt to get the Medic (healing) silver badge, you won't be able to, even though it shows you have 20/15 hours for the medic pack.
Kinda confusing...

The date/version i added was when each issue was reported, like LexLuther requested.
Issues reported as fixed in a patch get greyed out, and once it seems they indeed got fixed i remove them.
Can you take a screenshot of that titan black thingy ?

Hmm, it looks that way, yeah. I'll be in that squad a previous game. That game will end, and I'll still be in that squad for the next game, but now I can't leave to join a different squad. I'll see people leaving the squad, but not joining. I can't manage the squad at all.

Moving the titan over certain silo in Minsk will render the silo's not able to fire. Most of the time 1 silo, sometimes 2 affected. Ver 1.06

But i'm curious - do you actually play with these settings and suffer from this bug on regular basis ?? I had a feeling nobody does, so it's irrelevant :P

Ah, so they basically disconnected from the server while you were still loading the map ??
This might be the cause of the bug, the client not making you a leader because you haven't finished loading yet ...

Edit: the screenshot is of a new map's spawnperiod when you're dead, and obviously wouldn't be able to leave the squad even if it wasn't for this bug.
Would be useful to have a 2nd screenshot when you're alive and still the manage tab doesn't show and you can't leave the squad.

Should be EU side must not fly exceed Silo 5.

Round not ending when no opposing team is alive:
Just today I was commanding in Camp Gibraltar and my team was doing well and we obtained all the control points. One guy remained and I spotted him and my team finished him off. Usually not long after the round finishes but it kept going. The scoreboard indicated that all the enemy forces were dead, my scans showed no enemies. So we just sat there and waited for a few minutes until their ticket score hit zero.
Didn't see this posted but it was incredibly odd.

Eh weird, but rounds don't really end when the entire enemy team is dead, it just boosts the ticket bleed a bit - so i reckon that got screwed a bit.

Maybe once they actually fix the big ones i'll add the small ones ...

Rounds should end shortly after all players on one team die since the server could calculate the exact end points because the bleed rate wouldn't change. I'd estimate we waited 2 minutes since I got a few sats and supply drops in at the end. Maybe one of the squads had a beacon deployed but was afk and didn't spawn on it *shrug*, in that case it might not have been a bug at all.
