What colour Cross-hair do you use? [Archive]

I was playing a few rounds last night with a mate (a devoted CSs player :P), and he started laughing at something on my screen. I thought this was a little strange as everything in game at the time was rather normal.

I asked him what was up, and he pointed towards my crosshair.

Its pink. :laugh:

yeah, yeah, strange I'm sure, but its the only colour I'll use as there is NEVER any pink textures in almost any game, to loose the crosshair in.

So my question is, what colour is your cross-hair?

I had white until I realized that in this game, much more so than in BF2, my crosshairs got list in a lot of situations, so now it's red. It feels weird because I'm not used to it, but I don't see how it's any worse than pink. In fact, pink might be easier on the eyes. I don't think it's weird. You've got a very good reason for it.

While we are on the topic, what do you guys think of the 3 pin crosshair Vs. 4 pins?

Obviously it takes some getting used to, but im not a huge fan.

Green because I'm used to the CS default crosshair color.

I like the 3 pin, you can see your target a bit better with it.

I use bright pink (full red, full green, 0 blue).

I make up for the manliness loss by owning. The pink is always very visible.

I would hate to film a video with me having a pink crosshair. But it being pink does have its advantages... I am going to go with bright green tho...

White can get hard to see on snow maps and titans, though not too bad since most white textures are actually a very light gray.

default white, i normally always fire from the scope, so its never an issue

but changing it to pink isn't a bad idea, i might do that

I've been using yellow and it seems to work well but I'm gonna give that pink a try and see what happens. I really would like to see the cross hairs closer and just understand that there will be deviation from that. Or they could just put secondary set outside the center to show the deviation.

The problem I am having with a red/blue/purple crosshair is that it blends in with the surrounding too well.

The bright green is a good contrast against almost all surroundings on the battlefield because there is not a single texture/map that matches this bright green.
but after all it is just a matter of personal taste, and what you are used to from other games.

I just use the standard, only time colour matters is when you don't have scope up, and for me thats when the crosshair covers your enemies. I'm just used to it, if I had changed it when I first bought the game, no problem, but now it would seem strange.

Yeah, I use a purpilish pink because it stands out the most. However, even with that, I often confuse the white arrow that helps you determine which way your walker is facing related to your body for my cross hair. :(

I changed it actually for one and only one reason: white on white.

If I'm trying to target a gunship/transport and it passes in front of the sun, I have some issues aiming at the center of my screen, and when I zoom in with the tank towards a snowy area, it's hard to hit infantry with a white crosshair.

As I play an engineer a lot and use the H-AVR almost exclusively, I can shoot and duck behind cover before the projectile hits anything. Having a different coloured crosshair means that no matter what I use for cover, I'll be able to see the hit detector on my crosshair.

As noted above, very little is accually pink so it stands out. I dont think pink is that unusal as a crosshair color.
