Hi everyone,

I'm going to make an effort to unlock a spefic weapon in BF2142... but I need to decide so I can unlock the three items needed to unlock the full rifle. I was wondering if some of you guys could post some pictures of the rifles you have unlocked :rolleyes: . I'd like to see what they look like just because the picture in BF2142 can look quite different than the weapon in your hands. Plus, as the name implies, it's just cool to brandish those spankin' new beauties!

Hey Cornflake, how do you get that widescreen res? And is everything all stretched out like I see on many people's widescreen mode screenshots?

Oh, and I just wanted to mention, comfortably numb, it's in-game screenshots of your weapons only. I'd love to see a pic of the Lambert Carbine...

And i'm glad you asked that question about the widescreen res, gundamfan. Running BF2 / BF2142 in widescreen only makes the HUD slightly streatched... but makes everything else, including what you see in-game to be the correct aspect ratio (circles don't look like ovals or anything) and I love running it on my widescreen LCD. In order to do it put " +szx 1440 +szy 900" without the quotes in the target box of your game shortcut (and substitute those numbers with what widescreen res you want to use) and everytime it opens up, it will be in your widescreen resolution and you don't have to re-do your shaders :)

Cool, thanks guys :) Just a note, you can hide all of the HUD (except for the on-screen titan and silo icons) by typing in the console --> renderer.drawHud 0
That way you can take a more cinema-like screenies if you want :p Thanks for the pics everyone, keep 'em coming!

If you look at the statistics, the Zeller is almost no different than the stock rifles. It does more damage, but it still takes two body shots for a heavily armoured person, just like the stock rifles. Since really no one wears light armour, there is no real advantage here. To add to that, it has a dangerously small clip, doesn't actually have increased range or accuracy, has a terrible scope, and is incredibly loud and revealing. The Zeller sucks. I just love hearing that distinctive 'boom' and being able to pin point exactly where the sniper is and take him out with my simple but effective stock rifle.

Right now i'm unlocking the left support side so I can ge the sentry drone and eventually the Ganz HMG for better titan defense :p After that I think i'm going for the Lambert Carbine... i'm dissapointed that Recon only has a sniper rifle until you unlock a regular one. If that wasn't the case, people might spend more time with the Lambert and forget about the annoying APMs... :eek:

I have 4 unlocks ready to be abused. My favorite class by far is as a basic medic with a BAUR. I have the Lambert unlocked also. I'm trying to decide between the Pilum AT and the Ganz. I know they are completely different, and used for completely different things. Does anybody have any pros/cons for the 2?

Also, are the 2nd/3rd quad leader unlocks useful? Usually I keep my beacon equipped in case mine goes out, so I don't have to respawn, but I've never had a drone with a gun, which may be really useful. Opinions?

lambert is next for me, after that I pretty much have all the unlocks I think I'll really need.

pilums pro and con is that it is unguided and I've heard ganz isn't all that great, search more on that

3rd squadleader unlock doesn't work(shoots rarely) from what I've heard

I hear the Ganz sucks, that the stock MGs are better than it is. I haven't tried the Ganz, but I am not getting it because of the nearly unanimous denouncing of it.

I love my Voss, though.

How accurate is the voss at longer ranges? I like the BAUR so much because I of the high dmg it does and the accuracy when firing single shots. The voss seems more like a spray'n'pray weapon (well, granted, most large-clip, low-dmg/bullet weapons seem like that to me).

Everybody seems to think that the Zeller sucks, but it does have an advantage. The Zeller can destroy APMs and RDX, which definitely comes in handy. The only other item I know that does this is the defuser for the engineer. While you may think "whoopty doo, big deal" I really do think it is a useful advantage to the Zeller. Too bad I have other stuff I plan on unlocking before working on sniper, but I think people don't give it as much credit as it deserves.

I haven't even bothered to actually unlock any guns because it's a waste of an unlock when I can just field upgrade to all of them.

I have field upgrades available for every single gun except both the assaults and I'm working on getting the Baur first as I seem to like it more based on kits I have picked up.
