BF2142 Invalid CDKey Fix

For all those having trouble with this error message, EA (http://www.ea.com/) has posted up a solution on their support site today. Take a look:

I have installed EA Link and receive an error message about a duplicate GUID or an invalid CDKey. How do I resolve this?

If you encounterd one of the above error messages when trying to join an online server game after upgrading to EA Link, please try the following steps to resolve your issue.

Note: These files will only work with the english-US version of the game on the Windows operating system. Your game must be installed in the default location. If you have installed Battlefield 2142 to a custom directory please use the manual instructions below (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=14245#manual).

1. At the bottom of this answer in the File Attachments section you will find 2 files. (bf2142.bat and bf2142.reg )
2. Click on each file to save to the desktop.
3. Once both files have been downloaded double click on the bf2142.bat file.
4. Try the game again.

I bet you the batch file and the registry edit do what everyone in the community spent their time figuring out. I wouldn't put it past EA to plagerize our hard work.

I still got an invalid CD Key kick after I did this. It only happened once though, I'm now back to random lost connections. Phew!

Yea I'd be bitter too, however, no problems here (still looking forward to the patch).
