View Full Version : The fastest means of capping a map

I'm probably going to get into major trouble for sharing this with you guys, but this is my patented method of capping an entire map of silos/flags in as little time as possible. Please share amongst yourselves, but please try to contain it to the TotalBF2142 community. I know the clans will share it amongst their own groups, but really this works best with teams that communicate with VOIP to begin with. So, here goes...

Assuming a 64-player server with both teams full (32 players per side):

1. The player that will be commander stays put on the Titan or at the home base.
He does not join a squad, and he preferably doesn't fight. Even better if he is an Engineer to repair assets if needed.

2. The first player to get to the air transport (immediately becomes the pilot) does not join or create a squad... yet.
Since you are the pilot, you need to immediately prepare to take off as soon as possible. Wait for at least 5 people to get on your transport before taking off.

3. The first 5 players to get on the transport immediately create their own squad.
As soon as you're on the transport, it will take off. No excuses. Do not sit there and rename your squad or issue a way point before you get on. Just jump on. Once you're aboard, then you can issue a way point.

4. Every other player that joins the team MUST CHECK THE SQUAD LIST. If there are already 5 squads, DO NOT CREATE ANOTHER ONE AND DO NOT SPAWN YET!
Immediately try to fill up all the squads (maximum of 6 per squad). You will spawn in just a moment. Keep an eye on the spawn screen for your squad leader to appear as a green spawn point.

5. In alphabetical order of squads (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, etc), squad leaders will air drop over the next silo/flag.
For example, if you are the EU forces on Sidi Powerplant (everyone should know this level by now since it was the demo map), the air transport will take off and head immediately for the silo at the offices. Since it is the first silo, Alpha squad's leader will eject. The transport will continue flying toward the next base, where Bravo leader will eject out. See the example map below.

6. Once the squad leader has landed, he should then verbally tell his squad to spawn on him.
The squad leader should have landed as close as possible to the silo/flag. Onc he has arrived and is solidly on the ground, all his squad members will *POOF!* appear around him. This will multiply the silo/flag capping speed by 6 times.

7. And for the hardest part--STAY PUT
You could say this 10 times in a round, and still someone will not understand it. Once you capture a silo or flag, hold it. The enemy will come to you. Set up defenses, occupy the turrets and vehicles, and request commander assets where necessary.

8. The left over player (32 players - 5 squads of 6 [5x6=30] = 1 commander and 1 extra guy) should be a gunship pilot
Hawk the skies for tasty enemy transports. If necessary, man the titan guns take out the enemy assets.

Note that for most Conquest maps, the most you will be afforded in terms of transport will be an APC or buggy. This requires some coordination with teams, especially those that can speak outside of the game's VOIP (ie., clans that have their own TeamSpeak or Ventrillo). Hop in a ride, take off, make squads, hop out, spawn, and cap. For maps with about 7 flag sites, break off into 7 squads of 4 members. The others can make an auxiliary squad or join the others.

Sticky, anyone?

I don't see any average public server being this organized, ever.

Simplified:

Someone drop 5 people off all over, those 5 are all squad leaders, squards first spawn on thy leaders when they get too flags. :P
