This is best used with the clark and can be used for BF2 shotties too.
While you're sprinting, hold down your fire key so when you release the sprint key, you'll immediately fire.
This is handy for closing large gaps for the effective shotgun range :)

The same method goes for knife sprinting =)

ahh good old knife lunge tactic.

This type of tactic is useless... I experimented with it and discovered that it's just as fast, and even more accurate, to simply fire AFTER you're done sprinting. Contrary to popular belief, firing during a sprint will not make you fire faster, and will limit your ability to aim as well. Completely useless tactic.

Totally missed the point of what I was saying. Doesn't matter though.

Yes, your point is wrong :)

I think he was talking about the screen shaking during a sprint, it doesn't matter, I hate shotguns anway. I prefer to do a clean, professional burst to the head at close range.

Sounds interesting, but I can picture myself sprinting behind my squad - sprint depletes, *BAM* *numb teammate falls to the ground*. "Whoops, sorry!" :D

i think what kakifry meant was that you can't see the crosshair when you sprint so its harder to know where your gun is pointing

Turn off screen shaking, and you wont have to worry about missing those shots

None of you are even close to correctly interpreting what I meant... Deesies was implying that if you use the knife/shotgun "trick," part of the firing animation is "stored" within the sprint, and therefore when you release sprint the knife hit and/or shotgun blast fires quicker, but I thoroughly experimented with this and discovered that if you release sprint and quickly fire afterwards, the time from which you stop sprinting and actually firing is exactly the same, so this is a total myth of a tactic, it's all in your imagination, same as when people thought the Scar 11 re-skin unlock was more accurate or powerful.
Btw, don't respond to this, I really don't like listening to people when they're in states of frustrated delusion.

Nah, it'd be something like 1/500th of a second, and it's common to change your mind about firing. Let's assume you're chasing someone and he turns around a corner, and you want to circle strafe around the corner, but you can't because if you release sprint you'll fire the gun and give away your position. I think this trick is for people who aren't fast enough to fire quickly after a sprint, and if you're not fast enough to do something as simple as that... then that's just sad.

using this trick would (in theory) mean that you would fire at the very earliest opportunity to fire, without human reaction time being a factor.
No disrespect to all youse l33333333333333t bada$$es whose reactions are so tuned that you can release sprint and left click fire faster than a CPU can process it of course.

The point being, the 1/1,000,000th of a second you gain isn't worth not being able to change your mind about firing, and losing a bit of aim ability as well. Besides, a child could do it... you don't have to be l33t like me. =)

lol
That's a good point, you are locked into firing if you use this technique. Not so much of a problem if you are using it with the knife rather than the shotgun
