Every once in a while, while visiting this website, there is a form of weird popup which tries to install the Chinese translation characters.
It only started happening recently, and was wondering if the Total crew had been updated about it.
It's annoying and has made my IE crash twice now because of it. BTW, my system is clean.

I've tried it with both my Linux box and my Win32 box, and tried Opera and FireFox on Linux and both FireFox and IE6 on win32, same problem.
Firefox is truly one of the most overated browsers ever conceived. It has its perks, but that's about it, only perks.
Anyhow, I'll wait for a crew answer.

Then I think this (http://www.totalbf2142.com/forums/member.php?u=2414) guy is your problem.
Ehm, just download the characters?

Well, considering the popup never appeared before a couple days ago, and considering I HATE popups, and considering that I will never "install" something simply because the window tells me to, then this will not "Solve" the issue.
I don't trust popups, being in the information technology field, I can safely say that when people tell other people to "do what the popup says", I'm left trying to fix and clean their PC afterwards.

Well if you're sure that it's Chinese, then go to a site where you can download the chinese language. Right now your browser doesn't know how to handle the information it's being given because those characters don't exist for you. So download them from a trusted source, then come back and see what happens.

no browser but MSIE has a built in method of downloading fonts. So either you dont describe your problem correctly or you are talking bs.

It only has perks, and that's a bad thing? I understand that it's not the best in everyone's eyes. A lot of people think Opera is better and some things I read yesterday says it's faster. I'll give it a shot. But what's wrong with Firefox? They're not over-rated, they're just well advertised and have a large community support base. Plugins baby, it's all about plugins.

Well, I guess none of you have really truly understood what problem I was discussing: The fact that TotalBf2142 was having some Chinese popup (something like 1000-10000.com or something) is the problem, not that I need to download and install the default Chinese language characters for displaying whatever it is the popup is showing.
As for what is wrong with FireFox...only just that: That you need to manually install and get different plugins for what would normally work under Macintosh browser or IE (have you ever tried getting plugins for the Linux version, my god), but that was completely besides the point of the original message aka problem: Totalbf2142 was randomly poping up a Chinese (most likely spyware) window. The fact that it asked to install the characters was just to explain to the total crew that I may not be the only one with this issue.

Actually, it just happened now, so this time I took a screenshot.
Again, this only started happening recently, and I don't receive popups for any other website through either of my browsers.
