For this badge, you need to get 10 repair points in a round after meeting the time requirement of 10 hours as engineer.
The method for getting this badge is simple. Join a Titan server. You can immediatly pick up 8 repair points on the Titan. What you do is repair the Titan guns by using the repair tool on the seats at the back of the hanger. There DOES NOT need to be anyone sitting in the seats for you to get points. You get one repair point and two score points (don't know why) for repairing a gun back to functional status. So concentrate on repairing the guns that are destroyed, as opposed to the ones that are just damaged. Also note, that "You got a repair point!" rarely shows up when you are doing this, so keep an eye on the scoreboard to see how many repairs points you've got so far.
Once you are upto 8 repair points (or 16 score points) using this method, you have to switch tactics. You are limited to getting 8 repairs points from the Titan by the game's inbuilt anti-statpadding devices.
So you need 2 more repair points. How do you get them? Well the easiest way is to wait for an enemy player to destroy your commander assets. You get one repair point every time you repair a commander asset from destroyed to working again (you don't get repair points for simply repairing damaged assets AFAIK).
If no-one destroys your commander assets, you're gonna have to get those repair points in the field by repairing tanks etc. Good luck with this, as it's very hard to do unfortunatly :(
Hope this helps :D

Make sure you have the upgraded repair tool. It help get those consoles back up faster. Then go find an APC and follow around a friendly tank or walker. You can EMP armored targets or use the GL to keep enemy infantry away, all the while area repairing at the same time. You can also repair ground defenses that have someone in them. They are often damaged, but rarely repaired.
This is pretty good to know for us repairing foolz ;)
BTW it feels weird (to stay polite) that there is anti stat pading device in the game to prevent engies to farm points by REPAIRING the titan guns when you know "you know what".:|:

I dont know about you, but i kept getting repair points, more than 8 when i was doing it. But i was repairing while a teammate was in it, not when it was empty.

Would switching teams work?
Just an idea...

I think you can still get points after getting 8 if and only if people are sitting in the chair, but I can't seem to score them consistently :S

Why did I not think of this?! I'll test that later. Although I think I'd feel a bit of a traitor to my team doing that!

ignore your conscience
If you have the upgraded repair tool you can also drive around in a buggie and park next to damaged tanks/walkers that team members are in. You get instant repair points since you are repairing from within your vehicle. People rarely use this to an advantage. Parking right behind a tank firing at someone in the distance that is getting damaged consistantly is a great way to get those needed points.

You can still get repair points after 8 of them on the Titan. I got my veteran badge just repairing the consoles. Another tip for those trying to get this:
Repair the console just so the green gun symbol appears again on the screen; this will encourage others to use it. When someone gets it, start repairing it. A destroyed titan gun will detract players from entering it thus, less points for you.

I got mine Friday. Just repairing titan guns with and without "customers". My theory is that you can get 8 repair points by repairing empty chairs but need the customers in place for the remaining two points.
But the funny thing is that even the debrief showed me the silver badge and I got the points (500) and subsequent rank and unlock from it, it hasn't shown up in the bfhq. I'm wondering if I can get a second silver badge and the points next time also :D
All the other points/kills/statistics are missing from that round also. Only got the summary points. hmmmm.....

Actually, it only counts as a repair point when it displays the repair point message. The other points don't count.

I thought the same before Friday. Anyway it's all messed somehow with stats. There are so many unknowns in there for now. Maybe there was a glitch granting me the badge and points even I hadn't gotten the repair points with text. I was as surprised as any when it presented me the award after I think 2 or 3 repair point messages. Who knows? I surely don't.

I got over 20-30 assist points from repairing the guns, but only when I got my 10 messages did I actually get the badge, and I counted the messages carefully... as soon as I saw the 10th one, I got my badge. I'm thinking the experience varies from person to person, must be glitched. I also got my Ground Base Medallion even though I only had 99/200 repair points, so somehow it was counting my "invisible" repair points.

I have repaired guns tanks etc in the field and recieved no points for it. Is there a reason why I didnt get them?

It doesn't always work, you usually have to repair them from low health to full health to get a point. Not sure how the repair system works but just keep trying and it should work, otherwise it's just a glitch and will be fixed in some later patch.

I got my silver, second time, yesterday and now it shows in BFHQ. So basically I got 500 extra points because of some really weird glitch. And btw I got it repairing titan guns with customers in the seats. It still did not show repair point message for each of them, but I'm happy that I finally got it.

Well, I've logged 30+ hours of engineer, and I'll tell you I have ONLY gotten the "repair point" message from repairs on the titan guns when there is someone in the seat. As far as how many you get for repairing, you need to repair 100 points of armour/health to get 1 repair point, same as in BF2. Now, with the titan guns, they can be reduced to -100, so by repairing a completely destroyed titan gun to full health, you get 2 repair points.
I've never heard of this 8 point cap, and I can tell you that the time I got my silver badge, I didn't even use the engineer class until the titan was taking damage from AA, and then I switched to engie, spawned on the titan, and got 10 repair points. Lucky for us we had some crap gunners and some enemies on the ground eager to get the Titan Destructor Pin ... over and over.
But to be honest, experience has taught me that it's easy enough to get the 10 repair points outside the titan:
1. Be the turret gunner in a tank or walker, and jump out to repair whenever you can - join the same squad as the driver so that you can tell him to stop or go. Sure it's hazardous but engineers are the true heroes of BF 2142. They're the ones that routinely take on enemies MUCH larger than themselves.
2. Be in a transport aircraft, and occupy seat #4 or #5. You can repair the aircraft from the position, and as long as someone stays in it as you go from point to point, you will score lots of repair points AND keep the squad alive longer. The Verdun and Shuhia Taiba maps are the best for that, because of the difficult and spread out terrain, where people are more enthusiastic about transport aircraft.
Truth is, outside of the titan, repair points are EASY to get IF you're a good squad member and of course, play on maps with lots of vehicles.

I tried out the repairing the Titan gun tactic last night and earned a couple of badges, two promotions, and over 500 points. I just stood over a gunner's shoulder with my DysTek v2.0 and kept repairing the gun over and over. It seemed as soon as it was back to 100% it would get taken back to zero. I lost count of the number of times I did that but I had about 20 more repairs afterward.
Before yesterday I focussed on running after friendly vehicles and doing a "combat repair". That only got me 4 repair points after more than 10 hours of playing (and 100s of repairs).

Yes, it's pretty sad that repairing out 'in the field' is still completely unrewarding.
The only field repairs getting done are by engies repairing their own vehicles (and getting no points in the process) and by using dropped supply crates.
They REALLY should increase the rate of repair points obtained in the field (not necessarily on the Titan though...that seems fine).

I have over 60 Engineer hours, my gold Engineer badge, and don't have this badge yet. All I have is the bronze repair, and I'm amazed I even got that. They need to reduce the amount repaired to get a point to at least 50, probably even 25, because it's just ridicules.
I can't fathom myself getting this badge without sitting on my *** in the Titan repairing guns for an entire round. Either that, or having a Recon buddy on the opposite team blowing up the Commander stuff for me to repair. Both of these I'd consider padding, but I may just have to swallow my pride.

I've just tested the team switching. What I did was spawn (as PAC) and destroy the enemy titan guns until I got 2 titan gun destruction pins (16 points now). I then changed teams (to EU, 14 points now) and repaired 1 gun back to working status with a guy in it (now 16 points). Then repaired another gun back to working stats without a guy in it (still 16 points). Then I repaired wherever a guy was in a seat, getting 2 more repair points(18 points now). After the guns weren't being destroyed any more, I hopped in a gunship and destroyed 4 enemy titan guns (not receiving any points or a pin). I then changed teams back to PAC (-2 points, so back to 16 now). Kicked for high ping of 303 =\.
I assume from this that since you cannot receive any more points for destroying titan guns via team switching, that you cannot receive any points for repairing titan guns back to working status via team switching. I will test this again for sure when I can actually attempt to get veteran without being kicked.
All you need is a titan gun whore (the kind that stay in the sit even if the gun is destroyed ie: a support whore ;p) and a titan destructor pin whore in a AA. . .
You'll have your 15 points in no time.
