View Full Version : How to get Medic Excellence Badge?

I can't seem to be able to get the 8 heals IAR to get the Medic Excellence Badge. I have the AdvMedHub unlocked, and have tried spamming the Titan while defending the consoles and core, but most people die before I can heal them, and if I defib, they come back with 100 health. I've also tried getting it by following groups of people around on the ground, but I've found a lot of people will run right by and not wait to get healed (aggravating).
Is anyone else having as much trouble as I am getting a measly 8 heal points? Any suggestions on how to get this (while still helping the team, not stat padding)? Any particular maps or flags/silos that work best?
I really don't care about having the badge, I just want the bonus points for this and the Silver Medic Excellence Badge so that I can finally unlock the Carbine. Sniping bores me.

I'm having difficulty with this Medic badge, too.
I've spent countless hours trying to heal as many people in a round as possible to only get a measly 4-6 Heal points. It seems like all the partial healing I do doesn't get added up into whole numbers and the rounds are so short most of the time.
Revives I have no problem with, but Heals are a different story.
What's the trick here to get 8+ Heals in a round?

It's tough to do. I got mine by doing conquest maps with a lot of people in them over and over till I got it. I use the Camp Gibalicious map.

I'm being a bit of a hypocrite here, but why don't you people use the search function and find the other halfdozen threads about this that have been started in the last week or two?
To get lots of heals: run around in a gibraltar-like map with lots of people, tossing and holding boxes at choke points. You get a point for every 100 dmg you heal. When your gauge is about to go empty, drop another box, shoot a few people, revive some people, then hold it in your hands again, rinse and repeat. Ive gotten 20+ heals in a round from doing this the *entire* round (does take a bit of luck, and there has to be even teams, or the round will end too fast).
Another way to get some points, which I didn't find that effective, is to grab a car or apc, and drive it around at choke points in maps like berlin. I found it harder to get points this way because the people needed healing hte most tend to be hiding around corners praying somebody saves them. Make sure you have the advanced hub before you try something like this though.
To get the upper level medic badges, the counter "time with medic hub" is broken/bugged. It appears that the time with the hub is the same as the time on the support class, so go by that (it appears the bug just doubles your actual number; ie, i have 57 hours on assault, and it shows me currently at 114 hours w/ hub, but never gave me the badge).
It's worth noting that a lot of people say to just do this on titan defense, but since I don't play titan, I can't give an opinion on that. This would, however, conform to the concept that you should hold/drop boxes at choke points for some fast/free points.
Last, you have to wait on the central server to update and say that you have completed the global requirements, or your IAR stuff does you absolutely no good.

This isn't good to hear especially since the Silver and Gold are 10 and 15 heals IAR. If people are having trouble getting 8, those will be near impossible. I was hoping there was just some strategy I was missing.

I really don't know how i got this. I managed to get it on my first day as the assault class. I just remember getting alot of heals on FOB map.

Actually, not only did I search for every keyword I can think of, I manually scanned the topic titles for a similar thread. If you know of other threads about this that may help, please post links to them. That would be more helpful than complaining about it.

I've tried this type of thing, but not specifically on this map. This helps.

I have tried this as well, but what I've found is because of the lack of cover and close quarters of the action, people die more than just get injured, so I get more revives than heals.

Disconnecting from the server seems to make the master server update, so I usually do that before going for the IAR stuff to make sure it's all up to date, but I can't even get the Bronze badge, which has no global prereqs. Thanks for the info.

All I really do is throw Medic Hubs around like crazy when defending my Titan. I got about 20 heals yesterday on a 48 player server, which should have gotten me my Veteran Medic Exellence Badge (I already had 10 hours with the Medic Hub) but it never showed in game =\ lame...

Read my post; the hub-hours are glitched in some way. It appears the best way to tell how many hours you've actually been using it is to look at your total hours on assault. Also, I don't know if healing points count while you are dead (like APM kills seem to not count toward your IAR total unless it says "APM Mine" and not "killed").
To the other guy: not that it really matters, but I posted my own thread about this, and somebody posted a 2nd one the same day (this was maybe 3 or 4 days ago). So I'm not sure why it didn't pop up in search.
edit: here are 2 of the threads I was referring to:

You are allowed to drop a med-pack based on a gauge that depletes and refills (with use while holding it it drops over time, and if you drop it goes to 0, and over time while not in use, it refills). You have to have something like 5% or 10% of your bar filled to be able to switch to it. If you hold it in your hands long enough to completely deplete it, then switch to a weapon, you likely can't pull it back up for a few seconds.

Oh, and another thing, you should join a squad with no assault troopers in it, and then ask over VOIP if it's okay if you stay the only assault, cos you're trying to get your badge. Chances are they'll say "ok" and help you out that way. Then just stick to them like glue.

Dude, you should play on some of the Aussie servers. I would say one out of every two squads I join is keen to work as a team, and most of those contain VOIP users. Sometimes tho, people are a little shy about talking, so you often need to get things going with commands/suggestions/help/etc.

I got mine the other day playing PAC on 32 player Cerbere Landing in conquest.
I actualy tried to get mine for a while but then was meh and just player normally and it just came.
What happend was to the north west of the PAC uncap theres a bunker just south of the grey flag when the map starts. Get up there asap and if people are attacking that side they WILL be taking cover behind the bunker. Put one on the ground and one in your hands for uber fast healz. and always revive the ones that die.
I did that for a while then got bored and went to solo cap some places. while i left my med pack on the floor. Couple of mins later i got basic medic excellence at pretty much at the same time as a knifed a guy :D
Although for my to get my silver badge it says im 37/10 hours with med-pack for the silver. But for my gold assault it says im 17/50 hours with assault..how is this possible?
Anyway hope i helped.
And at above poster. Teamwork in aussie servers rocks when it gets going :D When im playing with people from my buddie list I always lead a squad and use VOIP. Don't be shy to join me!

WOW! I just got veteran! I didn't even mean to. I figured I was never going to get it so I never even bothered trying. It was a close match between the 2 teams and I was assaulting their titan. While I was busy shootin' and healin, I drop a medpack to heal myself and run off. Well apparently half the team on the titan all rushed over to my medpack after I turned my back to it and moved on. I didn't even notice I was getting healpoints and 'ding' all of a sudden I get the badge. Not to mention promoted as well. So my advice? Go to a large titan server and drop med boxes everywhere whenever you get the chance.

I would try dropping it in a camped chokepoint on a city map, a flag being defended, or after an orbital strike...and if that doesnt work you can just shoot teammates and heal them if you get that desperate...

I got mine (basic) defending the titan reactor room from a very determined enemy. Our squad was camping the room, the enemy was camping the vents outside. There was lots of action but neither side could break the other down. It seemed like we were in that room for about 15 minutes with bullets and grenades flying around and medic and support hubs scattered all over the place. I guess I was just lucky that the scenario played out that way. My medic badge just turned up.
I got my basic medic( 8heals), veteran assault (20 kills) and expert squad leader (30 spawns) in one round!! Got over 1600 points in one go! Yay!

i played on Fall of Berlin, and asked most of the guys in squads not to be medics and i ran around with the medic hub most of that round.. i got 12 heals so i got my vetern heal badge, so depends how badly you want it if you wanna maybe sacrifice a few deaths so u can hold the medic hub most of the time to get most chance of actaully getting those heals, coz its alot harder then in BF2... but it can be done !

I finally got my Veteran Medic Excellence badge! Thanks to all the tips that have been posted here. I spent an entire round with the medic hub in my hands.

Didn't read all replies so this might have been mentioned already, but so far I've gotten both bronze and silver Medic Excellence badges (without purposefully going for them) by Titan attacking & defending. I just pick the obvious spots to drop a medpack for others to heal: near a bunch of console corridor defenders, or, when attacking, just outside of the console corridor entry, whenever there's waves of teammates going in, trying to take out defs / turrets.
Same goes for Titan core defense & attack and near heavily contested silos.
I also respond to teammates specifically requesting a medic - whenever possible.
If you want to be the medic, then BE the medic: it may be part of the assault class, but actually it's more of a supportive role, so BE supportive and the healing points will come flying in...
And hello all btw, first post :)
