What are Dog Tags and how do I get them in game?

I see all these dog tag markers everywhere, some are for unique tags others are for just plan ones. What is the difference and how do you get these tags during game play, or is there some other special thing that you have to do to get them. How do I get my own Dog Tags? I know this may seem like a dumb question to some of you, but I'm lost on this. Help:confused: :confused:

Knife someone and find out.

You can't get your own dogtags. Kill someone with the knife to get their Dogtags.

Once you collect 60-70 (I think) you get a special knife unlocked.

It's a bannable & statresettable offense, according to the BFROE.

during game play, pull out ur knife (in weapon slot 1), and knife the enemy. doing so will earn you his dog tag.

knife him again, and you get 2 dog tags, but it still counts as 1 unique tag, because its the same player.

knife the snipers, or sneak up on unsuspecting foes.

that's too bad, I know it's considered stat padding....but they are so much fun to play some times. It's nice to get away from all the vehicles and sniper shots and get up close and personnal in a big pile of knives.

They are fun, and I am sure you will find a knife/pistol server which is not ranked - therefore legal :)

Funny is that lots of player try to get dogtags too much! I will not hesitate to pump someone full of iron when people are stupid enough to come at me with a knife!

Dude. I'm with you 100%! I was chastised on another thread for pulling out my shotgun....
I'd say I have at least 150 kills because of people coming at me, knowing full well that I know they're coming.

I knife those who failed to take the opportunity to kill me when they had the chance, in other words they looked right at me and didn't see me. I watched two guys do that the other night, and I didn't have the heart to shoot them :(

Your supposed to get your dogtag when you buy the game. It should be just underneath the CD in the plastic part. Your meant to wear it while playing the game.... SUPERCOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

there is... leaderboard then click dogtags. plus, get 50 uniques for the DogTagger Dagger.

Knifing is so much more fun in BF 2142. Today in Camp Gibralter (knifing heaven) I went around a bulding and 1..2..3 knife kills one after the other. It felt so cool.

I'll admit sometimes I run head first at a guy several feet away with my knife out stabbing air, hopping to god he is so confused and bewildered by my moronic actions he will put down his weapon and surrender to the blade of my knife.....most of the time, that is not the case.

IDK, but you may be able to go to an unranked server and have a gutspillfest without the reprocussions. I can't see EA or BROE having a problem with that. I know I don't.

All you need now is an empty pool and a crowd of Rowdies.
