View Full Version : Multi-role soldier VS. multiple soliders

I made my first soldier a support dude, Cywarf. Since I'm not very good at the game (have not played a FPS since the very first DOS based DOOM), I made a different soldier for assault, Tremorean.

Now I realize this was a BIG mistake, since I like doing assault in the first part until the Titan shields go down, then switch to support. It doesn't work to logoff and login with a different solider.

So, it's my opinion, even for players like me who suck and unlocks come really slow, to suck it up and build one soldier and just wait and wait for the unlocks for a 2nd kit. I thought I'd throw this out there and maybe someone else wouldn't have the same regret I do later on.

I know this isn't a problem for a lot of people who get 40+ kills per round and 100+ points per round. My best round score is currently 39, with a best kill streak of 7.

Any other opinions from people who are not the best players in the world?

Too bad I couldn't call EA tech support and get them to combine my two soldiers together.

Well I am far from being an uber player as well, but this is what I am considering doing.

Either try to level up one alt to get all unlocks OR level up two alts with the purpose of being able to switch between two roles each. For instance, my first guy would be able to do engineer for silo defense/capping and once the titan is down switch to support. My second guy would go with assault/recon. This way I can use all 4 classes and I have enough versalility no matter which one of the two alts that I play to not have to switch out.

But then again, I could just tough it out and aim for getting all the unlocks I want on 1 dude... still debating that one...

use your first 3 unlocks for the grenades and the sprint ammo, and then just tough it out upgrading both classes at once.

If you look at the badges there are several that help; for example I try to kill 4 titan belly guns in each game I play; this gives me an extra 20 points per round. also if you man the belly guns on the titan it is really easy to get 5 or 10 kill streaks; this also adds to your points.

To be honest, I would recommend playing assault and unlocking the defribrilator; that is pretty much free points there and then. So long as you join a squad and stick with them people will help protect you, and you can revive and heal them. The more people you stick with, the better you will do as you will find yourself winning most engagements.

Also, try joining a clan. find a small but active clan and stick with them; that way you can always have someone in your squad, and voice chat helps a lot with co-ordinating an assault.

Hope that helped :P

I went grenades first, then straight recon and got my Lambert and APMs, then grabbed Engineer EMP mines and the AE Defuser, then went Support and got the GANZ and the Shield and advanced ammo hub, then back to Engineer up to motion mines and the PDS, then advanced sprinting. Hoping to test out the pilum a bit, as that's probably my next unlock, followed by the sniper scope (handy), then maybe go for the Clark or get at least the Defibs for assault.

1 soldier is the only way to go, tough it out mate, you'll get there.

The only reason to have more than 1 soldier is if you want to quickly unlock a few things from another kit, to see if you like them or not.

The titan guns stuff is 48 points a round if things work out and someone on the other sides after repair points. You can get 2 of these pins in a round at 20 points a pop, plus the 8 points you'll then have got for taking out 8 guns.

Either your support ammo hub or your medic hub and defibs will get you good points as well as your gun, if you stick to where the action is. As others have said, get in a decent sized squad thats working and following orders and you'll pick up loads of squad points. In a titan, 1 kill gives you a kill point, a titan attack or defend point and a squad point (assuming the squad leaders on the ball) so that can really help you get started.

I'd highly recommend sticking to 1 tree until you have it like you want it. Then, after, say, you get your Pilum and Motion mines on ENG, go unlock all of the assault stuff you want. This way, instead of having 3 or 4 gimp classes, you have 1 or 2 that you can actually play with. Also, I'd go for the nades, sprint, and stamina after you finish your first big gun upgrade. Being able to run around and actually keep up with your squad is a big perk, especially if you are supposed to be reviving, healing, resupplying, or repairing them.

Your scores are about the same as mine when I started. I still get round where I'll score less than 10 due to being in the wrong place at the wrong(right?) time. Usually that's from following orders that send me around the map but change just before I get there.

Anyway, I'd recommend support first and upgrade the left hand side (EMP, netbat and mini turret) but don't get the HMG, it's gimped, get the frag grenades instead. This way, you can keep trouble at a distance and concentrate on staying alive vice getting kills. Knowing when not to shoot and when to scoot will help you become a better BF player than old school style run & gun.

If you get attacked whilst using these tactics you'll usually wind up dead rather than injured so a medpack ain't much use, whereas if you played assault like this, you'd run out of ammo long before you run out of health. Anyway, with the ammo box and frag grenades you can become a human mortar (albeit short ranged and a bit slow).

Using the LMG's is quite easy, but you need that survival instinct and know when to leg it.

For a single target, you can just drop and shoot till overheat, the target should be shredded by then.

For multiple targets, shoot about 5-7 rounds until the reticle is reduced to max, then fire bursts of 3 with a short pause. You know you'll be doing it right because the gun heat won't rise or fall and you can fire off a whole mag without overheating. Trouble with this means committing yourself to the contact so make sure you can take a minimum of 2 targets before opening fire, otherwise killing one then dying is a bit of a stalemate.

Best position for LMG. Flank the troops supply line so enemies are crossing rather than coming towards you, it's harder to hit them, but you've got loadsa rounds and know how to fire off a mag without overheating (see above). This gives you a better chance of getting more kills as a flank attack is harder to locate than a head on or rear. Also, if a few troops are crossing your camping ground, go for the guy at the rear first, the others in front may not notice him getting shot. Use the mini turret to cover your own flank and save your dogtags.

In a close quarters fire fight, start with 3 shot bursts and keep at 3 shot bursts, the large cone of fire will actually be an advantage.

Also, a well placed EMP 'nade will reduce the accuracy and situational awareness of your targets:)

Happy hunting

I'm covered, depending on the battle I've got a full left tree Engi or a full left tree Assault. Then when the shields are down on the Titan, I got a full left tree Recon waiting for me.
