MyInternetServices (http://www.myinternetservices.com/)' very own Artem "Tom" Nezvigin recently had the chance to review Ideazon's Battlefield 2142 Zboard (http://zboard.com/experience/battlefield2142/). Here's a portion of what he had to say:
The first thing you'll notice when you setup your Zboard for the first time is how intuitive the layout is. These guys must have done some massive research to make this keyboard comfortable right off the bat. As I mentioned above, I've been using a completely different key configuration for 8 years and I felt 100% comfortable the second my fingertips touched the keys.
You know those crazy movements your fingers make when you have 20 enemies surrounding you? How often do you *want* to pull out that last grenade, but are so tense that your finger slips up and you don't get it off in time? These are the kind of situations where the Zboard shines. The keys are arranged so that they do not get in each other's way. Another vital aspect of the keyboard is the designers had the sense to put some space between these keys. What commonly happens with regular keyboards is the keys are so close to one another that your fingers occasionally slip and hit the wrong key. This is particularly dangerous for me because sometimes one of my fingers slips and hits the "Create New Squad" button in Battlefield 2 - causing me to lose my great squad of 5 people.

I have been using the insert since the first day it came out.
i aslo used the bf2 insert, I can say that the whole keyboard is second nature to me now. I would be hopelessly lost trying to use a normal keyboard.
It's a great piece of kit and for any gamer will take their gameplay to the next level. And for beginners or people just learning the game the the fact the game controls are all labeled so the game can be learned much quicker.
The only drawback is when trying to type trash it usually comes out all garbled, so you dont make much sense lol.
ownage=zboard *nuff said

I've never had a reason to need new drivers for the z board, worked fine for me since I got it. The only thing is I can't stand the inserts. I gave up on them after a month and just use it as a regular keyboard. It's not bad if you are one for the gadgety controllers but you're better off with a normal keyboard.

Hm, yeah, kinda does sound a bit biased. As soon as mine arrives, I'll give my own review on it, and try to be as objective as I can. :P
But still can't wait for it to arrive. :D

I have to disagree as I have the MERC Zboard and it did not work for awhile; in fact is was more of a hassle if I was in game and accidently tapped one of the keys that is supposed to be used in game it doesn't work and opens IE.
Mainly it came down to BF2142pace.exe and BF2142.exe which they could not get down right; so people who downloaded it suffered problems.
They have it listed but it does not work and I addressed the problem when the Zboard people wanted to advertise their product on here. I made several references to ZBoards offical forums and how the questions had gone unansewered after 3 weeks of no compatibility with keyboards.
I sat in their offical forums with a couple other people wondering why we got no support. Gave up after a month of not working but maybe I will give it a try today.

You think the BF2142 Zboard keyset is sweet try the Merc Zboard. Now talk about an awsome key board. The keys are angled naturaly for your comfort and it felt like i used it for years. I recommend it 100%.

it works fine ; did use the bf2 insert first until could get the 2142 insert
does have few more keys with better set up and the keys letters are bigger and more bold could see it at night a lot better than my old bf2 set
the only thing that I did is I scratch the key for prome position that way my
finger knows were it is without looking sometime before did hit the map botton
than the prome position so insted of go prome did get the stupid map in my face, but now with that key mark I can feel and keep my eye on the screen
they should have somekind on the key like a dot on the prome were I put my
pinky the other finger get's in position

If you all like the BF2142 ZBoard try the MERC Keyboard by Ideazon. It is alot more comfortable and a heck of alot easier to use and you can configure if for any RPG and FPS games.
