I know there's 4000 billion threads on 'how do I get titan air drops' and most of these are people not knowing that you need to do it from a transport etc etc..

I have received several titan air drop pins before patch 1.05 / patch 1.06, and have received maybe 2 after it. Used to be that you could hover at pretty much any height over the titan and when someone bailed and landed on the titan, you'd get your assist and when you had 10 of them you'd get your pin.

I post this because, although I had no problems getting air drops before 1.05/6, it seems I'm getting the drops awarded maybe 1 out of 10 times. I have tried it at a variety of different altitudes, from next to none to 100ish to 150, 175, 200, 250, 300, all the heights I've seen suggested in forums, and basically it seems like a total lottery as to whether or not I get awarded the drop. It also seems to make no difference whether or not I am over the titan, or whether people who drop out land on the honeycomb-looking-bit at the back or elsewhere.

I just want to get 10 in a round so I can get my aerial service ribbon, and then I don't give a monkey's whether or not I get another air drop as long as I live. Please, please, someone help me before I buy a kalashnikov and plenty of ammo and head over to DICE HQ for a killing spree.

Maybe you should be more careful when choosing your words.

I think you can't get the award from hovering above a titan anymore.
However, i heard that if you park a transport and people get out you'll get points - so just do that and be prepared to die a lot :P

Being pod stomped and the titan aa guns make this probably one of the most hardest pins to get in the game.

Clearly you can say anything you want on public internet forums.

I love it when people leave the Transport unattended on the back deck. Just last night I podded up to the Titan and was lining up for a pod stomp when I say the guy running for the vent shaft, I landed and jumped in the transport and shot him in the back with the Transport gun. Then I moved the Transport to the center of the deck and mowed down a couple of more podders.
