View Full Version : How do u get past those annoying mines?

Ppl were talking about being able to crouch past them. How do u jump through the Titan holes at the top deck and avoid getting blown up. I try and land crouched but it doesn't work.
Is there a special technique or is it just not possible?

Drink a few beer, then when the urge to pee comes along, let loose on the APM and the recon nub :)

It depends, sometimes landing while crouched works and sometimes it doesn't. I don't know if it's a bug that it works to crouch sometimes (like they are supposed to go off every single time crouched or not, but sometimes the hit detection doesn't register or what).
If they are close enough to the opening you can try to blow them with RDX to or shoot them with the Zeller sniper rifle.
Or my favorite is to wait for a noob to come along and jump down the hole first and follow right behind them and shoot the Recon before he can reset his defences. If you are in a squad with an Assault you could also volunteer to set them off yourself and then have someone revive you after they kill the camper.
But yes, they can be a major pain to overcome sometimes....

An engineer may be defusing them. You can get down there safely then slowly crouch forward to deactivate it.

A couple things will happen.
A) You get lucky and see the claymore
=> get out that wicked defuser (ok)
=> back up and wait for someone else to go through (ok)
=> crouch (75/25 chance)
=> crawl (ok)
=> boom....you die
B) You don't see it and boom...you die

DO the old BF2 dolphin dive way, jump - prone into the vent... usually works for me. USUALLY

I can usually get down and past by crouching, but then there's no guarantee there isn't someone waiting for you at the end of the vent. Therefore, your best bet is to go recon and just toss an rdx down there if you aren't sure.

Yeah I am seeing a LOT of vent campers as of late (it was always bad, now it's pointless to even try). Today was the first time I saw someone toss RDX down and blow it (and take out the vent camper), and I though to myself "BRILLIANT". Not a bad trick!

I usually let my buddy go down first. After he's dead throw down another frag.
A good player will have both APM and RDX waiting for ye.

Take a teammate with you, I suggest the one that is constantly jumping up and down and shooting at non targets, this is where he is most useful. Get to the top of the hole and then say "Go Go Go" when he lands and sets it off. Wait about 2 seconds and then drop nades for fire rockets into the hole. Once the enemy noob setting these things is dead, you should be fine to drop and run.:D

C) you see the bugger and try one of A) just to get blown up because a teammate comes around the corner :rolleyes:

CTD to destop then rejoin..good chance you're on the other team so no apm's in THAT vent that can hurt you...that's if ff is off, then you screwed either way. I suggest just pushing you buddy, letting him die, jump down take the guy out then get his kit and throw you're own pair of ball blasters in the vent.

If there's someone doing that with APMs, I just won't bother attacking and go get some silos, it's too frustrating looking out for APMs as well as pushing back the defenders and watching your back.
Let them have their vents, they will soon decide to come down to ground level, but when they do you are free to charge their titan!

Drop down but don't move forward, crouch past works ~80% of the time for me. Usually though if a mine is there a recon guy is waiting with his lambert to pwn you will you can't fire due to the anti-bunny hopping pause. Other than that he might have rdx on the wall so if you avoid the mine he'll just blow you anyway. If you get someone camping try to get down below and throw a few nades up. If there are too many camping defenders then go4silos.

Crouch-walk or prone past them and that should work most of the time. Also be extremely wary of any APMs set in the hallways hiding behind the pillar-type-things. I've seen people rush past those only to get blown to pieces by APMs. ;)

Sometimes crouching works, bu dont count on it 100%
