Please, for the love of god make the pods launch out from the sides. I'm sick of getting a bunch of teamkills, because my occupants find it necessary to pod out right as I'm landing, and with your broke *** teamkilling system guess what? I'm punished for their own stupidity.

The pods should launch up out the top rather than launch downwards anyway. For a start it isn't always obvious in the gunship if you need to open your chute or not because you get used to the pods in the transport. Lots have died by not realising.

Just hover around the silos and yell "Bail out!".
Then take a time to land.

most poeple punish for any little thing...I cant stand that. Seriously, the only time I punish some one is when they kill me purpously or do something extremely stupid. For instance, like rx'cing the consoles in the titans when your right next to the damn thing. They dont even warn you and blow the damn thing up with you next to it just to beat you on getting the point!!!! you know the reason they punish you is that they can get a higher ranking than you in the round. Sometimes I think this game would be much better if it was'nt for the stats. Its good to be competative...it gives you something to look forward to, but most of the tards that play this game care mostly only for the stats

I tried that once when I came in for the landing I guess I parked it to close to the silo, because there was a little gap between the silo and my ship, and everyone ran through the gap and died, and guess what! punish, punish, punish!

Yeah, the biggest reason people 'pod out' when you're about to land is because 9 times out of 10 you'll crash and kill us all anyway. FF off servers help to, it can lead to some humourous exploits with rdx etc, but I'd rather put up with being indestructable to your teams weapons than having punish after punish for some idiots mistake.
I agree though, have the pods shoot up like all the other vehicles (yep, heroin addiced flying dustbins).
Me, I'm no expert flyer, but I tend to hang around at altitude above a cap and just shout bail out several times, then try and land to pick the lads up. If I crash, then only I die and everybody laughs at my poor skills :D

They need a fix sometimes the transport isn't moving forward that fast and when I try to bail I get run over :/

just take punish out of the game, or play on servers without TK's, Like mine :D

Ive also been killed while jumping from a transport at 100m in the air!
You know, when you dont get a pod (whenever that is?, it seems pretty random) and you get hit by the vehicle you'd just jumped from.

Actually, in most of the games I have played, a dropship (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dropship) lands to deploy the troops. The "drop" part is getting the troops from the mothership to the target, not dropping from the dropship itself :)
Besides, you need to land anyway, to pick up your squad again.

There are very nice drop pods for disembarking from a dropship, so it's best that players have a chance to use them.
Landing an empty ship to pick up troops is both obvious and far less risky, so of course.

I once got squashed between a silo and a perfectly standing still transport ship! And i saw that many times too when i was flying it!

You are of course right that you shouldn't land a dropship in this game.:)
The Podders will punish you and the enemy Engineers will eat you alive.
Usually I will make a pass to allow the podhappy to get out, and then I will land it at a safe spot a bit away from the action.
But I am not a dedicated bus-driver as some are.

Well i am usually pretending that i'm landing and when it almost hits the ground i go up, the n00bs go out at the last second and hope they can punish. But NO i go up and you die from the fall! So no punishing newbs for me! Then i land and hope i dont squash anyone, if they land safely :D

I fly....alot. I love transporting people around, even at the cost of points. I've always loved being a shuttle and pulling evasive maneuvers against AA, gunships, etc.
Anyways, here's my suggestions for getting around the TKs. If I'm flying with my clan, or a squad on VOIP, I'll tell everyone to stay in until I land next to the silo.
If I'm flying with non-squadded guys, or people keep spawning into my transport, I'll pull a slow hover at a high enough podding/chute distance over the silo and spam the "Bail Out!" command until everyone bails. Then I'll pull slightly forward, do a 180, and land next to the silo for hopefully a capture assist point.
I rarely get TKs with this method. Just slow down a little near the silos (if possible) and hopefully everything will be OK.

-Be more careful when you fly
-Try just hovering.
-Use the "Bail Out!" key
-Don't fly
-Find a better server without noobs
Why ask EA to fix something that is not broken? Threads like this have convinced me that common sense is just not common at all.

Yeah, launching you at the ground at 100ft/s right below the podship while it's coming for a landing, thats not broken at all.

Heck, it claims I TK people when I'm just sitting in a transport on the ground without even moving.
Usually I will make a pass to allow the podhappy to get out, and then I will land it at a safe spot a bit away from the action.
All aspiring dropship pilots - please take notes.

The pods should launch up out the top rather than launch downwards anyway.
I don't think that is wise either. Having pods shoot up just gives the same idiots the ability to kill you now. I like the idea suggested by Nekrosis, the pods should launch slightly to the side.
