Point whoreing: Infantry maps vs titan

Everyone says you can make more points on titan but I dont really see this. In a good round of titan I can make 200 points (which is if I am totally kicking arse taking out the titan guns, defending, etc.). In a good round of conquest with a good squad I can easily make around 120 points. Factor in that a good round of titan takes 2 to 3 times the amount of time it takes to play a conquest game then do the math.

1 good game of titan = 200 points < 2 good games of conquest = 240 points

thats assuming you can play 2 conquest games in the time it takes for 1 good titan game.

It does, my average time for a titan game would be around 30-40 mins whereas a conquest game rarely lasts longer than 15 minutes

You get more career points during a titan round, but that doesn't mean your getting more global points per minute playing titan. I usually get a higher spm playing a city map than titan. I'm sure some tards are thinking "whoa 100 points in titan", but that could be a extremely long round with a low spm.

What he said. It's funny that Pistols & Knives servers are against the rules yet FF off where you throw rdx all over the place is okay.

That being said, Titan = more career points, Conquest = more score points. This does vary with your team's performance though.

I prefure for entertaining gameplay camp gibraltar 64 FF on.

But for points i like it off.

FF off would be so much better if you could still injure yourself with explosives. As long as you can't though, it's retarded.

On point, a good Engie can get tons of points on Titan mode with an SPM of 3 or more. Don't see many people with that kind of SPM on Conquest maps. Kind of a wash for me.

Since the subject is point whoring. Titan yields me 2x the CP on average. And the round length is comparable. You only get 15 minutes conquest games when the defenders zerg/camp/rape the attackers uncap. I usually leave those server (regardless of which side I'm on) because they just aren't fun. Shooting fish in a barrel takes no skill, and being the fish is even less fun.

If you have anything close to balanced teams, they last about the same time. There are also a lot more badges for titan mode. Once you have all of those, then it's a toss up, but by then you'll have most of the unlocks too, so you won't care as much.

Check detailed map stats. You'll see total time on a map and total points accrued before awards. With an overall SPM of 1.93, I calculated seperate SPM values for a few different maps/game modes.

Titan - Sidi Power Plant - 1.87

Tian - Suez Canal - 2.00

Conquest - Camp Gibraltar - 1.87

Conquest - Cerbére Landing - 2.07

The pins earned in each game mode vary a small amount, but I'd think the Titan Defense pins alone would make Titan minutes more valuable than Conquest minutes.

If you want to earn 120+ easy career points per round, play option "A" as commander issuing orders.

You will also earn pins from kills with orbital strikes (extra 10 to 25+ points in most cases).

Getting loads of points in a game is so easy if you know where to point whore, which is usually titan gun attacking or titan defense. Also going on huge servers that lag majorly helps too. I restrict myself to 32 player servers MAX, but I like smaller servers as it comes down to tactical ability and stealth more then. But in small servers you'll be lucky to break 50 in some games and getting near 100 before pins is excellent. But sit on Titan Defense in a 64 player game and you're laughing. This is why stats and point systems on BF2142 mean nothing any more!

Titan get most points period. You can get more pins which bumps your score up a treat!

While the shields are up you can gain 2 titan destructor pins. Then you can gain both titan attack and defend pins once the shields go down, and then another pin for bailing of a destructed titan. Thats 100 points before you even start shooting at people.
