Anyway to install bf2 editor without bf2 installed?

I was looking in to editing bf2142 and everyone pointed to the bf2 editor. So i downloaded that but am unable to install it because i dont have bf2 (i keep getting the error "bf2 is not installed"). Is there some way around this?
