Hey. I recently installed the 1.10 beta and its great and all, but im only getting two servers. Is there any way to downgrade from the beta to the most recent patch? Im thinking Ill have to reinstall the game.

It was said to copy your game folder BEFORE you install it

If you didn't then it's your own fault and yes you have to re-install

Nope, question to all on this topic though, will they realease a patch to go from beta to final or do you need to revert to the old files before patching.

Uhm not sure on that 1. I think you can patch it to 1.10 from the beta, the same files should have been altered

If they didnt do it for Beta 1.4 in BF2, they aint going to do it for Beta 1.1 in BF2142.

The whole idea about copying your current bf2142 folder was that once the beta is over, you can delete it and go back to your original files before installing the beta.

When the beta is over, you again delete the new beta installed directory and go back to your original files before installing the beta.

When the new 1.1 patch is final, you can "NOT" install it over the beta patch. You must use the files before the beta patch was installed (hense the directions to backup those files), a fresh install, or any previous "official final" patched version.

And just in case,... you cannot install a previous patch to the beta patch to revert back.

That should just about cover all of the questions.

For those that missed the directions, here they are:Installation steps to protect your original BF2 install:
Beta Installation

Go to “C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts”
Right click the “Battlefield 2142” folder and choose “Copy”
Right click anywhere away from this folder and choose “Paste”
Once the copy has completed, you will have two folders named “Battlefield 2142” and “Copy of Battlefield 2142”
Install the update 1.10 beta, then start the game as normal

When you wish to switch back to the release version of BF2142, use the following steps:

Go to “C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts”
Right click the “Battlefield 2” folder and choose “Rename”
Rename the folder to something like “Battlefield 2142 Beta”
Right click the “Copy of Battlefield 2142” folder
Rename the folder the “Battlefield 2142”
Start the game as normal.

The shortcut will run BF2142.exe from whichever folder is named “Battlefield 2142” and both installations share the same registry entries.

Using the above steps will negate the need to completely uninstall and re-install whenever you wish to switch from the retail version to the beta version and vice versa.
