I just don't get it.

Last night my buddy and i were playing and he said he was showing as a private. I have had it happen before, but just logged off and waited to play later when my rank showed up right in BFHQ. He went ahead and joined the server I was on anyway. As he was playing the round, hops in vent and he starts saying what the? He got 6000 career points in the one round. He got 2x2000pt ribbons for the second time, some other ribbons and a gold badge he already had.

So I'm thinking that is messed up, but this morning he hops back on and all the points counted? He actually went up 6k? You have got to be kidding me right?

You would think this is a serious issue and something EA would resolve. You would think that they would not allow you to earn the same badge or ribbon twice.

I just don't get it. I was having some serious fun ranking up with him and playing together and suddenly he is so far ahead of me it kills it.

dude, i would get that cleared up with bfroe before your "friend" is accused of statpadding, or else he might get stat wiped.

Yeah, it happens, a mate of mine got 8400 points in 1 round of badges/medals and ribbons...

yes i know he probably wont get wiped, its just that "better safe than sorry", personally i know a few ppl that got stat wiped all because one or two times, they joined a server and became commander, all of a sudden their scores started rising, because of that they were accused of stat-padding and got stat wiped. thats why i am NEVER commander in bf2142, haven't spent even a single second as commander :).

don't worry. its a glitch. as far as i know, there is no way to knowingly "hack" your way to get this...its totally random.

i think ive received the valorous ribbon twice and legion of merit 2-3 times.

ya i have gotten a 500 point ribbion and a couple a badges about three times.

It just sucks. It's on thing to see people cheat or pad, but to have the people who make the game hand you these points because they screwed up is just stupid. The last time I logged and and it showed me as a private, I just logged off and waited for it to show normal again. I guess I should have hopped on a server and played. Next time I will know it's my chance to artificially inflate my Career Points and rank up!

Yeah, the next time I log in as a private you can bet I will be going for all the crap I already have. If the game publisher does not care enought o fix the problem I guess there is nothing we can do short of not playing when it messed up. I won't make the mistake again. I will hop in a server and start banging away at those ribbons and medals!
