Today, after I was just playing and minding my own business on 137th Squad Server titan...no tk's, helping mah team, etc...and scoring 60ish points....i got this msg: wtf...is gaming now politically correct too? why don't such admins just announce "For bible thumpers only..." grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

sofakinghai ive played with you once on a server and i said immediately to myself so ******* high hmm nice name... but its so easy to interpret those messages that servers and i think even PB will kick you for those kinds of names because minors can figure it out just as easily as any veteran of curse words

it comes down to the issue of censorship but this isnt a political forumso ill stop there

kids can "translate" it then they dont accept it

I've seen servers that wont allow political names, like Hilter, Stalin and Bush. Rarely do I see anyone get kicked for offense names unless of course there not trying to hide and have names like **** or *******.

But sofakinghai is a hilarious name.:laugh: I cant imagine any server kicking for that, unless of course it was a christian server, they kick people for saying noob.:|:

I've played on some of these servers in BF2 and they seemed just like any other server to me. I didn't have any better or worse experience playing on them so what is the difference that they're offering?

Some clan servers/org servers suck, some of them are the best you will play on. You find a good'n and they accept you,then well played, stick with it.

Most of the time you WILL be annoyed, KICK'd left right & centre!.. forced me to pub a long time ago, still I notice the same peeps day after day.. hihi :)

Reminds me of the joke about the prudish woman (Christian if you like), in NYC.

Compared to all the oddball rules out there, kicking someone for obscenity is rather understandable and reasonable.

The servers are open for the general public and played on by people of all ages. Most servers have language filters.

It doesn't really matter how anyone tried to "camouflage" the words - it's still obscene and vulgar. While I, at worst, find it a little puerile, I do appreciate that server-owners usually put some effort into keeping these vulgarities curbed.

..and be honest, if not here then at least with yourself - you knew that this could and probably would get you in some trouble eventually. If you've only been kicked from one server, you should instead count yourself lucky...

I'm Christian too mate :) I did have an interesting experience on a BF2 Christian server though. Someone asked what map should be played next and I wanted to fly some jets, so I recommended Fu She Pass and got kicked because of the "Fu". I was kinda surprised by that and rejoined and asked an admin about it (he apologized), but I have absolutely nothing against Christian servers and in fact wish that there were more of them (good ones that fill up). It's fun to play with people you have some kind of connection with and that also love God. I can see how the name is offensive though because it's obviously a deliberate attempt to avoid blatantly having an offensive name.

Banning people for having offensive names (however they are 'hidden') is about as immature as having an offensive name in the first place.
Getting upset about a server banning you for having an offensive name is pretty immature too.
When I see someone with an offensive name it just makes me avoid them because they are probably immature in their actions also. I'm not saying the OP is, but if he can't understand why a server would ban him and other players would avoid him then he's either stupid or naive - either of which means 'immature'.

that certainly doesnt help your case, im guessing the name wasnt the only reason you were kicked from the server.

bottom line, ea doesnt have a profanity filter for people to work around it, your condoning drug use and skirting profanity at the same time, its not outside admins rights to kick you from a server if they felt offended, especially a christian server.

is it stupid to kick someone for it, of course it is but when you have name like that your inviting someone to kick you if you just pissed them off while doing good or spanking on them. its the same concept for the guys that use orange names, why give anyone a reason to think twice about kicking you.
