QUESTION ABOUT THE IPS ( infantry protection shield )

Why is this shield such a bright color ? It sort of says " hey, here I am, come in from behind and kill me "...

its that color to draw the attention of everyone on the battlefield so that the recon guy with the crappy active camo has a chance to sneak by to capture the back flags...

Afterall, if you're behind the shield, and still getting killed alot, there's something wrong. You're meant to crouch behind it and whore your LMG... I don't recall being killed too often doing it?

I rarely use it because it is so noticeable. I don't stay in one place too long, and with the support MGs you can stand up and drill the enemy from long range anyway....Something that would stand out like that on a real battlefield would be an advertisement for sudden death.

The best to do is to place it next to a box, but with a VERY SMALL GAP, and fire through that gap.

Who cares if it sticks out like a dogs ****. Used with the turret, and an ammo box, people are gonna be breathing down your neck pretty soon anyway.

I see it as less of a shield, and more part of a crude mortar from which I can lob 'nades and shooty shoot all the people trying to kill me.

Pick a good spot (tops of ladders are good, as anyone climbing the ladder can't shoot you) and you'll be hated within minutes :)

Besides that, yes the red is a dead giveaway and poor support always get a bullet in the head. The sense of security it gives is BS.

Best tricks with the IPS shield are:

1)As your titan is about to explode place the shield in the doorway at the back and when people start piling round and getting stuck trying to jump over it you nail them in the face with your clark. Oooh the amount of distinguished combat efficiency pins i have got doing this.

2) Place the IPS shield in the vents. If placed correctly people will get stuck in the vents because they cant jump over them. You go back to your titan hangar room and pod over to that vents and see people trying to jump over. This is how i got my silver knife badge :D



So overall i would say i love that little shield. :D

I use the ips in the titan but hardly anywhere else. Good for blocking corridors especially when you have 2 or more shields up. Also good in the corridor to provide cover.

LOL. I love some of these tricks and I see use for the ladder one. . .

However, I never use it. The pulse meter is just beyond useful, unless you have the otus drone, and both the EMP nades AND sentry drone seem significantly more worth it to me.

That is brilliant... hehe. I've seen the vent one a million times (and tripped on it) but the exploding titan barrier is fantastic hehe.

Yeah, the sheild pretty much sucks for defense, and its bright red color screams KILL ME!!!

I <3 blocking titan doorways with it tho :D

I put the shield where i can see it, near an edge where someone could be hiding, and position myself to kill whoever believes someone is hiding.
