View Full Version : High Roof Topp Spawn Beacons On Berlin Map

How are peeps getting on top of the high buildings on Berlin Map ?? I have tried pods out of APC, but I can't do it.

Ah there is a simple way to do this, plant a spawn beacon near a building on the floor and when your podding down spin very very fast. You will end up veering off course and you might end up on top of the building.

1) Spawn beacon close to building
2) Spawn on the beacon
3) The building is behind you, press S and spin really fast.
4) Get a squad mate to destroy the beacon on the ground and place the new one on the roof.

First time a UAV has killed me. or anyone i know of.

Why would you guys share that info... Its funny as hell when you play on some low skill server and no one knows the trick..

The easiest way to do it is have the recon drone unlocked and EMP unlocked. Stand near the edge of the building and chuck an EMP at your drone, it falls to the floor. Get on top of your drone and then watch as when it starts to take off so do you. When at the right height jump off onto the building.

Only drawback of this is there is no sniper kit so you may want to get someone else to chuck the EMP grenade.

The other night our team decimated the entire EU force. Some chump enemy SL decided it was funny to start spawning their squad on top of the building next to the first flag. The game lasted 20 minutes more than it should have, after we've got all their flags and all they are doing is camping the rooftop.

I believe they were promptly kicked or disconnected.

Other than that, I think it's a pretty neat trick and adds an extra dimension to the game, what would otherwise be a very linear map.

One time podding in I landed on top of a UAV and I thought "oh sheet! I am floating in mid air!!!" (didn't see the UAV). Of course, it moved, I fell off, died and ended up having to pod in again.

So, really, gravity killed me, but the UAV was an accessory to the crime.

Whats the point in playing against a low-skill server? You don't improve. You improve by playing against people better than you ;)

Afterall, we're all a community, theres no need to be selfish with tips and tricks.

Yes, i know how to simply deploy a beacon, but before that 1.06 you to face a wall, turn 180 degrees and throw it down. I did that in 1.06, but i came out another way.

My drone blows up when I try to do that. I think I don;t even have to jump on it, just EMP it and it will blow up oO.

The drone has to be brand new with no damage then it works.

That EMP/Drone trick has to be one of the funniest things in the game. Had a SL do it the other day and I was like WTF? watching him fly straight up in the air on his little drone like a personal sky elevator.

I think too you don't have to hit the drone directly to get it to fall down, it can be a near-hit and it will still be affected. Makes me wonder if DICE is planning on changing this to prevent this "exploit". Its probably not THAT big a deal though, as there are other ways to get on the roof and there isnt a good way to control freefall/parachute movement like there was in BF2.

Why do I have this strange feeling I'm going to start seeing a lot of floating Squad Leaders in the near future? :p

Thanks for the all the good info ! I have been on the roof, been below at the Crossroads flag, and been a Commander watching this..... When I was on the roof I didn't get much done... When I was at the Crossroads flag, someone was dropping clays from the building and got some peeps below...I went across the way and started dropping the offenders with my sniper rifle. If there is a full squad up there, as Commander, I will reduce them to dust from time to time. That prevents me sometimes from EMP freezing and orbital striking the noob APC deivers if they don't move ( always an easy 6 kills )....All and all, if the other team knows what they are doing, I see only a disadvantage for this. Your thoughts ?

you cant even get halfway near the top of the buildings in Berlin with c7, trust me, ive tried, heheh.
