BF2142 Editor Tools

Hey there, i want to start mapping for 2142.

I've got experience in mapping with the Source engine and i was hoping you could tell me where i could get the 2142 editor from.

I've heard that it may only be possible to use the BF2 editor and manually change files so if so, how is it done?

Yeah, you export BF2142 from the 2142 mod folder to the BF2 mod folder and unzip it all. There isn't a BF2142 editor out yet.

The best place to start would be the Editor forums. You can get step by step tutorials and they'll link to the EA ones too. Mapping in 2142 will be much the same considering the maps were made with a slightly tweaked bf2 editor.

for a good mapping tool go to the sir community website and download the bf2142 sandbox editor. it`s simple and it make awesome bulidings. I made several bulidings including barracks, hangars, skyscrappers that I could go inside, ETC. if you`re a starter in modding like me, download bf2142 sandbox.

Crisis, what Sir. Shpox already wrote: The Editor forums (http://bfeditor.org/forums/) should be a "Must Visit" for you :). Another good resource - especially if you plan to release maps for Singleplayer - is the BFSP Forum (http://battlefieldsingleplayer.planetbattlefield.gamespy. com/forums/).

Wtf... Dude, the mod doesn't even have anything to make buildings with. Just a hollow crate, a spawnable walker, and yeah, it's in beta right now, nice lie though.

but yeah, the BF2 editor can be used to achieve most things...take a look at what the guys on the First Strike mod are doing...amazing stuff.

dice needs to give us editor this game game costed way more then bf2 did and they got an editor..id say we owed one ......ive talked to many map makers and they all agree dice did not build thease maps with that editor ...we liked to have the one they built the maps with please

No good. I tried also, but they just ignore any message about editor tools. I even phrased it in such a way so that they could tell me if they were even releasing mod tools at all, but they didn't even respond to that. I'm not overpleased about this...
