I would like to know how EA/DIce managed to let a bunch of people suddenly rank up faster than Rosanne Conner to the buffet? I've noticed people who were way behind me suddenly passed me in the leaderboards. I stand at 1224 and this one noob who was like in the 2 to 3000 area suddenly was put to 700 on the leaderboard. Mind you he was also a stat padder I harrased till I had his tags as dominance. I also have much better stats and time spent than this guy. So what happened and how can we fix it?

How could you not be in the leaderboards? Do you own the game and not play?:D

There are a lot of stat padders in top positions. What seems to happen is that they delete a lot of them at once so players go up 1000s of places in a few hours because of the deletion.

I dont beleive this is the case as my position in the leaderboards didnt improve it worsened. These guys werent deleted they some how jumped up in the leaderboards for no apparent reason.

I don't know what my position on the leaderboard is, and I don't care. I know I'm good. I don't need numbers to tell me, and I damn sure don't want to compare ****-sizes with the statpadders.

You wouldn't be saying that if you found you were ranked among the best only to have it ripped from you by cheaters.

Being high on the leaderboard isn't about being the best - it's about playing a lot more than everyone else.

I wouldn't have said that if it was PC to say "Leaderboard is for homos", but it's not so I said what I said.

leaderboard is all about time really, you want to stand out, its all about the k/d ratio.

Not really, any noob can have a high k/d ratio if he doesn't play infantry. There is nothing to be told by stats, you can only tell by actually playing with someone.

Not true. I start with someone's K/D, and then compare their time and total kills in vehicles with their total time played and total kills. I also look at the maps they favor, and weapon usage.

The problem with stats isn't the stats - it's the people who want to look at one single stat and be able to draw wide conclusions about the player. You have to look at a player from several angles to get a sense of their skills.

Your not taking in consideration the level of competition a player goes against by looking at stats. I play in the same servers everyday which means my stats are relative to the people I play againts daily. Does that mean they are good or bad players and my stats are indicative of my abilities? That is why I say you have to play with someone to judge their abilities.

Yeah but still a lot is skewed, that you can not tell from Stats.

My fabulous stats reflect hours of learning, some shooting against wallls to perfect the counter drag on weapons, all conveniently on ranked servers, as I had no idea these things were tracked when I came to BFworld, I wasn't even sure what ranked was at first  , there would be a dramatic jump in my percentages if you reset my stats now. As now I know. Luckily I don't care about stats  Or else that would've been bad :p

There really aren't that many exceptional players frequenting pubs often enough to matter stat-wise. Most people face similar levels of competition wherever they go. I don't believe that you're facing such amazing players day in and day out that your stats would be mediocre despite your awesome skill (I'm speaking hypothetically - I haven't seen your stats).

You're partially right in that stats don't tell the whole story, but I still maintain that I can get a decent read on a player's abilities based on his stats. Certainly more than

... nothing ...

True enough people's stats don't tell the whole story. But the people I've seen get ahead are people I've played with and know for a fact that without cheating or hacking there is absolutly no way they could reach as high into the leaderboards as they have. I wouldn't start a thread if I wasn't sure these people were doing something wrong but I am positive about it. You may think the leaderboards is fubar but I want the privelige of being highly ranked with honest players and saying I've played with the best and I am the best. But all that is moot if nobody knows who you are. Look up my stats if you wish and tell me I didn't deserve the place I am in the leaderboards. My game name is Robot_Chicken just like my forum name.
