its not all bad, titan lag is stopped if you go on 24 player servers, im only dissapointed that there has been 5 supreme commanders already and what he said ^^^ about there being over 100 people that are brigadier general already! but i hate when people criticise the game so much....I <3 IT!

I love it, thousands of others love it, I wish that Titan either was not included at the start, or they delayed the release of the game (note for next time, make a gamemode like Titan an expansion!).

It does not feel like a reskin of BF2 to me, it feels great, my only complaint is the design of a lot of the conquest maps, adding a seond entry point to something like berlin, or even adding a buggy would have made that a great map, same holds true for a few others.

The weapons feel balanced and new, the skins look great, the gameplay on conquest is fantastic, Titan is good, the problem lies in the lag issues. The hacks are not as noticable in 2142, but I guess since the game is so new that will catch on.

All in all, I could only barely be more happy with the game, a few tweaks here and there and everything would work out fine, good job from me, count me as one of your continued fans, both EA and DIce.

I like many aspects of the game, I love the Lambert sniper rifle, I just would ask for more maps.

The game feels pretty good to me. If titan lag wasn't present, I would give it a rating of at least 85.

A nice keynote about the game is while it's still using the BF2 engine, everything about the game feels very new. Also, unlike BF2 where a lot of buildings are reused throughout tons of maps, BF2142 does not feel like this at all. Every map feels completely original and very few buildings are reused in several maps. The weapons feel more refined in 2142 as well. This is good and bad. Good because it makes it easier to kill people (and be killed too). It's also bad because a lot of elements which make BF2 feel very realistic are not present in 2142. Sniper lag is no longer present in 2142, which is nice because it is no longer a guessing game for snipers, which means they are a more desirable infantry class.

The game is not easy because everyone gets the same stuff that you do initially. However, since there are tons of unlocks and upgrades in this game, it makes it much harder to start out too. In BF2, you could throw yourself into combat immediately, and it would only take a few days of play to get completely comfortable with the system. In 2142, it's a harsh first few days, but once you figure out how each of only 4 classes works, it becomes very clear what has to be done to succeed (DEFEND YOUR TITAN!!)

Overall, I really like BF2142. It's a complete different game than BF2, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Hopefully this game will grow on people once DICE irons out some of the gnawing bugs that are currently present.

i think this game started off horrible
in fact bf2 started off way better

and also i think its made a huge impact that since day one, there has ben server disconnects brought over from bf2
and there were promises that this would not happen..

empty promises lead to people saying screw this...

from the first day of the demo there has ben disconnects...

still to current day they exist why the hell its happening i got no clue but this has made it all worse,

not to mention lets just add everything up right now thats wrong with this game and you tell me if its really worth what you paid for it ...

me im lucky, i got this game for 10 bucks on ebay, so im not mad in the least..

the guy i got it from, got it for christmas and had no plans on ever useing it ..

like i said i got lucky, so my game experience is verry diffrent from yours given most of you payed alot more...

so if you add up all the problems with all the goodness in this game is it worth it ?

They really need to optimize the performance. I played BF2 last night and the soldier actions were like butter.

bf2 = more well rounded game..not to mention dice did not devlop it...and it had more time to be completed hence why its a better game over all to play..

Don't get me wrong, I love 2142, but yeah was I suprised by this as well. I hadn't played BF2 since 2142 came out and was suprised at the differences between the way infantry felt when playing them.

Being on the ground as a soldier in BF2 just feels more... I don't know, fluid is the only way I can describe it? After playing BF2 for a while, when I went back to play a few rounds of 2142 it felt like my soldier had an extra 100 pounds strapped to him. Just felt a little sluggish to me.

Still, bugs and all, I really am enjoying 2142!

I got the same feeling, but it seemed like your playing on rollerskates in bf2, whereas bf2142 you feel like your actually running with all the equipment your carrying.

bf2 = more well rounded game..

No.

BF2 has some serious gameplay issues, including but not limited to claymores and airpower.

2142 has some very, very important changes made to both of those aspects - ones that I wish they'd retrofit into BF2. The weapon design and balance spectrum in 2142 is also better than in BF2.

Still, BF2 is superior in terms of performance (load times notwithstanding). Another poster described the movement as "fluid" and there really is no better way to describe it. BF2 is silk when it comes to physics and soldier movement.

What can you possibly expect from the largest video game production company in existance? Face it! They're the microsoft of the Video game world. They're chewing up smaller companies and putting their twist on everything. It's truly sad. The Battlefield games are great... but everything else is just so-so. Some of it is downright horrible though.

The ragdoll physics are poorly done in BF2, soldier's arms and limbs do not in any way pivot and move as they ought to during death animations. Further, most of the animations are choppy compared to 2142.

I still love BF2 because I enjoy flying the F35 and owning J10 hotshots that thnik they're invincible. But infantry combat leaves alot to be desired in my opinion. Further, everyone goes prone asap in BF2 which is sort of a joykill for some people.

Meh, to each their own. But for me, I can't stand all the rampant baseraping, spawn camping, artillery on uncaps, jet domination, armor spawn camping, support and medic proliferation...etc all that goes on in BF2. 2142 seems devoid of much of that, or at least it's usually avoidable. There's also so much less "Death from Above" which makes for a more enjoyable experience for ground pounders.

Anyway, both games are awesome so choosing one over the other is hardly a big deal.

im one of the few that didnt play BF2. i dont know if this was the case in BF2, but im very disappointed in the poor performance in mid-range hardware setups and constant CTDs which both seem to be getting worse with patches. i havent seen many games where patches bring new instabilities and worse performance.

2142> BF2.

They have prevented jet whores.
Chopper single pilots.

Better squad work as there are more points involved.
Balanced weapons.

Less armour whores.

At first I laughed at your post. Now that I think about it...
Wow your so damn right!!!
Still, I personally suck with the helicopter and mediocre with the jet. Strike at Karkand was just not enough to suit my needs.

Here, where I am all about infantry I play Camp G, Fall of Berlin, Cebere Landing, Belgrade. If I get bored of that I go to Suez Canal where I have my fun with the hover tank =D

Still all the people that complain about too many people being on top of the stats... Well guess you guys are all about points and not teamwork then ehh? Yet I am happy to see that it is easy to rank up because those unlocks sure do come in handy.

P.S. Most guns felt like Lambert Carbines in BF2. I couldn't hit too much from far range unless I had the G36CE (The SF Medic gun, don't remember the name too well)

2142 is so much better than BF2, IMO. The game is just so much more balanced. There is much less "whoring" because of this, as there is no "pwn everything" vehicle in the game (like the airpower in BF2 for example).

There are also 100's of little improvements over BF2, both gameplay and non-gameplay.

The only thing that bugs me about 2142 is the poxy Titan lag, although I can avoid it by going on servers with <24 slots.

2142>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> othergames>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>BF2

Really, 2142 is like eveyone says WAY more balanced, because of the 4 kits. You don't have to run around whole Karkand looking for a ammo bag and stuff.
Airpower in BF2 with the J-1000 Super Fighter was a laugh.
2142 is the best.

i love 2142 but the fact that the most important game mode was delivered with sh!t performance really gripes my a$$..i played BF2 the other night all maxed out and a 1400X1050 res and my fps never dipped below 60 but in 2142 it rarely goes above 50...im so happy im picking up CS. source this week...;)

I think you're still enjoying the game but annoyed. A lot of people are the same way, there's nothing to be ashamed of, you're not a fool. You make a semi-valid point here but there are other options until this gets fixed to avoid getting bent out of shape.

Another thing to note, this isn't WoW, they don't get paid money every month. Things might take a bit more time and you can't really demand more until they stop providing updates altogether. Until everything is back to normal, try running smaller maps, try conquest for a while, heck take a break from the game and come back and then see what you think. ;)

BF2 never had any big problems ? ask some of those who started playing it from the get go ... LOL

Someone above posted that there were over 100 Brigadier Generals already !

100 !! Do a little search under "Overall" on the Leaderboard under BFHQ ( use the ">" ) and you will see the number is likely over 4,500 !! They don't stop showing up until you get to 5,645 !

Well, BF2142 is maybe more complex and deep, more sophisticated teamplay etc...But I think BF2 is much more funny to play...when I play to BF2 i always laugh or smile for some funny/stupid/strange situations, 2142 is a serious game.
