In the first weeks of 2142, I ruled all. The lambert was my best friend and I could have sworn by its pwnage capability. lately, it seems 2142 has gotten a LOT harder to be good at(or mabye I suck more) but it makes the lambert close to useless on a lot of maps. Engi's beat us close up and assault and support own us from everywhere. I dont like apm spamming and sniping is boring.
Any help, any comments?

people are getting experienced, getting better, and better unlocks.
Early on, the assualt class mg's owned, now everyone had got one, everyone owns.
The ease of use of the Lambert has largely been negated by people learning how best to use the 'harder' guns. Which is balanced since Recon class shouldn't be going toe to toe with anyone.
If you play Recon with a Lambert, you should be shooting them in the back.

SOME people are getting more experienced, the rest are just beginning to realise how overpowered some weapons are, and are spamming them like there's no tomorrow.

I've been suprised that alot of the Christmas newbs are actually pretty good at the game (for newbs). But I figure alot of them probably were playing the demo for a while before Santa dropped the full version of 2142 in their stockings.
I still do pretty well most rounds, but yes I have noticed that it is a bit harder to do recently.

^^^I'd have to agree, I've seen lots of players with low ranks who have been pretty good, although I didn't consider that they had played the demo to death. I thought that I might just be getting killed by an experienced player who had set up a new soldier. Oh well, I'm just getting killed by newbs. :(

I've seen you in action Panda, and I can't imagine you getting killed by newbs very much. I personally have loads of bullet holes in my head from you to prove it :)
But that being said, I was a BF2 demo player for like 6 months before I got the full version. I wouldn't be at all suprised to find the new Chrsitmas players have been playing just as much as we have been. Just playing the demo and with no unlocks. But even with this handicap, they would have gotten a good grounding in how the game is played, in my opinion.

No.
A lot of very dumb players out there and my KD/SPM are still climbing.

Close Combat maps don't feel all that different to me in terms of skill, but something I have noticed...
Motion Mines seem much, much more common. In the first month that I had the game, I was mostly playing around in armour, and the mines seemed very rare. Motion Mines were the first unlock I targeted (after that, the Pilum) so I've been using the toys since almost the start, but in most rounds I just didn't see much in the way of enemies using them, or friendles.
Now though they feel much, much more common. I assume this is because once people specialized in their more favored classes, they moved on to Enineer just to have, and now once they get killed by armour, they bust out their back up Motion Mines and Pilum to deal with the threat.
And those things sure are a pain to deal with if you've got infantry around. Gotta expose yourself to diffuse them, or take the hit and then expose yourself to repair. Only other option is hoping to kill the mine layer and then waiting up to two minutes for them to disappear. Fun stuff.

ppl are getting smarter at the game.
in big-open maps like shuia taibi verdun and suez canal is the engineers there rules.
i see motion mines ewerywhere these days.
like ppl in here say, they have unlocked what they need ect ect.
and ppl are getting smarter at hide the mines, instead of just drop them in the middle of the road.and that is useless, because all can see the mines from distance.
yup endeed its getting harder, but that is what i like.
more battle instead of raping

maybe another thing to consider...
Players have unlocked everything, created a new profile and started again??

Utterly correct.

Yeah I ruled with my Pilum initially, it was easy and I was generally alone with it. So I mixed it up being tank and tank-hunter and I did both well enough.
But the last month or so I have been killed by other Pilum-users a fair bit, and I do feel that motion mines are more numerous. Though I feel that the users aren't any bit brighter than the first ones, I still find huge minefields in the middle of roads, something like three guys just spamming all their mines in the one place. But I will admit that the well placed mines are becoming a greater threat.
I used to feel almost unique, now everybody is a Pilum-user.
That has of course forced me to rethink my tactics so that it is me who kills the enemy armour. So now I don't lay down mines in bases if I intend on going tank-hunting, I find more obscure ambush positions. Such as down the road towards the second PAC flag/silo at Shuhia Taiba, or near the bend/ramp leading to Harbor from the EU base at Sidi. And there are a load of other nice places to do ambushes at. And the best thing is that you hardly ever run into infantry since they have little to do out there... They are generally trying to cap something.

Yeah, if you're new. I aim for the head/neck area with a carbine and have no trouble dropping an enemy at medium range. From behind, use the Carbine? Umm hell no, stab him!

Still many newbies that still don't know what teamwork is. I mostly put a bullet in them when i switch teams. :p
BTW: Some newbs maybe guys from other FPSs, like Call of Duty, who moved to BF.
When i played the demo for the first time i immediately understood everything. Maybe some other guys did also.
And Lambert ownz at CQC, it's my weapon of choice! I don't care about shooting in the back, i just shoot them where i can. And i can say, you really don't have to shoot them in the back to ensure that you kill them. A smart player will go prone and unloads his weapon on me.

Not really sure about this? I've found it's suddenly got a damn sight easier now I've learnt the do's and don'ts of the weapons. Knifing ppl is a joy these days.
