Anyone kinda ebed off playing recently?

I dont know what it is but once I made Lieutenant Colonel Silver I just kinda stoped playing altogather. I still enjoy it but it just didnt bring me in as much as 2 did. Anyone else feeling this problem?

Yeah, me too. Especially since I made General. I haven't quit entirely, but am playing maybe 1/4 the time as I did initially.

After the 80th time you play Gibralter, it tends to get a little stale. And the 200th time you see the titan blow up is not as exciting as the first or second time.

I think part of this is because 2142 feels a bit more channeled to me. What I mean is that it feels to me that Titan mode and also the way a lot of the Conquest maps are laid out are designed to focus players towards certain hot points in the map in order to ramp up the intensity levels. But the only problem with this is that you tend to have clashes in the same places, at around the same time. Like say on Sidi Titan, lots of intensity at the center silo most of the round until the shields go down on one of the titans and then loads of intensity at the titans from then on out. It just gets to be a little deja vu, you know?

Still I think it is a brilliant game, it just can get a little repetitive for me in a way the BF2 did not.

EXACTLY! As soon as I got to Lt. Colonel Silver my game play really slowed down. Once you have most of the unlocks and the ranks are more spread apart there is less reason to play.

I created a new soldier and I'm having fun bringing him up in the ranks differently than my first.

Plus, a lot of tards started playing after Christmas and now it seems to be difficult getting healed and ammo supplies... as well as dealing with general n00biness issues.

The maps get boring since they are so mono-directional. The maps in 1942-BF2 tended to give you more options for manuevering than we have in 2142 where it's "straight ahead" for most city maps... That gets stale.

I'm hoping for a couple of new maps in the next month to keep things interesting. I'm probably going to take a break from 2142 and play something else for awhile until expansion packs are available. Company of Heroes (for now) and Quake Wars (in a month) are looking pretty good. Let's not forget about Command & Conquer 3 and Crysis coming this year, too.

I started to slow down but then weirdly I played more then ever once I found out I wasn't going to be promoted (finally got promoted after being 500 points over and got the clark) I play a lot now I've got the clark just becuase I've missed shotguns so much
it def would be cool to see some new maps and even IO?

I made Brig Gen and paly a little less but am having more fun now that I dont worry about badges or ribbons.

play for fun you point whores :laugh: You get more mileage out of games that way. It does not always have to be a race to see how many points and ranks you can obtain in 2 weeks. Slow down and start enjoying the game.

not I, but then again, I'm lucky if I manage a couple of hours a day, and I've been bedridden for most of the last week, damn cold. . .

note. . playing BF2142 on codine is very surreal but not particularly effective.

I have cut back from playing it big time, its rarely u get a good game no more, the lack of team play is bad and its all about ranking up. Its sucking the fun out of the game.

Also its lacking the realness gritty street fighting factor that BF2 has.
Im really looking forward to Quake Wars with its highly geared Team play factor and the fact u dont have to spend hour gring certian wepons just to get anywhere and b a effective fighting force.
