Assault 3rd Rifle Unlock?

Every so often I kill a medic and I notice he has an odd rifle so I pick it up. It looks much like the Lambert with different optics and is identified as the Scar 11 AR on the score board, but isn't the Voss or the Baur. It has a mag count of 30 and has less recoil than the regular rifles. Anyone know what this is and how I can get my hands on it? As a side note I have seen this rifle for the assault class only, and haven't seen any other odd rifles.

It's the Best Buy pre-order rifle. It is the same gun as the Scar11 just a different skin. There are a few threads about this around somewhere, try searching for "Best Buy unlock" and you'd find them along with some screenshots of the gun itself probably.

Ah right. Well I guess I just keep takin them off the ground from now on. My question is why they don't have a different skin for every class, but I guess assault is the most commonly played class.

True, a bit like the BF2 veterans program was an incentive to get BF2er's to join up with 2142.

It wasn't a huge upgrade though only one rank (40 points).

Because EA rushed the game out the door. They might have put more exclusive models in had waited a while longer. The BOFORS is probably a rejected assault rifle model that they just threw in to say "ooh look, you can have an exclusive!"

Nevermind that the gun is huge, taking up as much screenspace as the A/T rocket launcher :rolleyes: I guess it does "look" cool though. I'd much rather have a functional gun that doesn't obstruct my view (the Scar 11 is fine but underperforms compared to the other 3).

I got killed by it the first time the other day. When I saw it in the death cam, I laughed out loud. The thing is so huge and loaded with gadgets and electronics, looks so stupid xD

Does it even have custom sounds?

While it is annoying to keep having these "What is this weapon?" threads, as Mr. Roast Chicken just above me has pointed out on another thread: if you don't know what exaclty you are searching for, you wouldn't know how to find it neccesarily.

I mean if you searched for "New weapon" you'd get 10000 returns for "What new weapon should I unlock" or "I wonder what new weapons will be in the expansion?".
