I have made some videos like the www.squadplay.com videos, using Fraps.
There's plenty of squad VOIP talking in this aggressive attack on a well defended Camp Gibraltar.

>> Click here to see them on GoogleVideo << (http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=bf2142+squad+voip+teamwork)
I intend to make more of these and have 'BF2142 Squad VOIP Teamwork 3 .. 4 .. etc'
Watch them, enjoy and give me some feedback.

good stuff, I don't know about the sound I'm at work and no speakers. :(
But, the video does make me wish I was at home playing!

You should check it out with the sound, that really is the whole thing, its the verbal communication that makes these videos.

Not a bad vid but kinda dull at times because you hang back a lot as squad leader. Being support would've been more useful IMO because you could hang back but still fight with the LMG or resupply. Look forward to the next installment.

Great, which server is that? BTW: You can always drop the beacon and go in the fight yourself.

Impressive!
I have been wondering about how to make the best of Squad Leader. I can't contain myself in combat, I need to fight... at times heh.
But this was great.
Now the big question, how were you for points? You didn't see that much action, but then again you hardly died, or stayed dead for that matter.
I would love to play with others using VOIP. While I have a clan of my own we are not often online more than two of us, and most of the time I'm going solo (clanwise).

I've been playing a lot as recon squad leader a lot lately to see what is possible. I had a good game and just concentrated on staying alive to be the spawn point, which meant avoiding fire fights to the point of not taking kills I could of had. This is a style of squad leading that takes the cloak to the extreme and only really works on infantry heavy maps. When I was editing I did think that hanging back isnt too visually exciting but then I thought its still good intense action and it puts out in the world of video a different style of squad leading that people dont see very often. Overall I favor the support class as best all round kit for squad leader.

> Support with beacon would be best for you to get a flexible mix of leading & action
> Points for me, not good that round. I didnt set attack & defend orders on map enough to get the squad points (too hectic). The recon cloak angle on squad leading isnt a point grabbing style. I play games for the satisfaction of teamwork and not kills/points. Support kit when squad leading gets plenty of points though.

I think I know what you mean here. If you mean that Orca was the first to frap his squad leading, that he has invested in the squadplay domainname, that he created something powerful and educational in his squadplay website then you are right. EA owe him. I saw his videos and thought two things 1) I've gotta get me one of those scan through wall gadgets 2) I could give this a go... and you know the rest.

Went to Tacticalgamers home and noted the IPs, so expect to see me if I don't have too high ping.
I only wanted to see how many points such a devoted SL would get. I don't really play for points, for the fun in points is way less than a good round of yelling and screaming (ok perhaps not that but at least a bit of banter and good humour) and good teamplay. That is why I want to try it more.
