Well I've made alot of game related movies in my career of gaming and some have story lines, and other's do not. Although getting a story line in 2142 would be difficult with out the help of others it is possible.. But my question is what makes a video that would be submited here great? I have yet to start recording the clips due to not know what you guys want to see so I dont make something that has been done before or perhaps something that is being over done, Also as far as battle recorder goes how does that work? Thanks alot guys

well i think in bf2142 there is still plenty opportunities to make a good original movie/clip. Id really appreciate some knife action, or engineer movie. Even gunship movie would be fun! hell in this game is so much to do, just make a fun movie with defib kills or nice sniper ownage. Pick whatever you want.
PS any movie that catches somebodys leet skillz is great imho.

I like movies with a lot of comedy. Movies such as The Pwned Life. That was such a great BF2 movie. Comedy is usually a + if the person gets it lol.

There are so many knife movies out there.. Including mine ..
A good script, timing, amount of actors nothing too common, like you'd seen before kind of stuff..
Oh yeah and the pwned life Is a great movie, also the Mine movies were awesome..
snoken are making some really good movies :)

All depends on the type of film.
If it's all out action, lots of rock or any other type of fast paced music..
If it's relaxing.. something slow maybe..
too many examples to type in lol..

I'm aiming for nothing but pure killing with perhaps a few funnies. So would heavy rock /techno due? This is sadly my first video with just killing, Most of my ingame videos have a plot or something..
Battle recorder. Iv noticed in alot of videos that have been done the player is able to see himself in third person, how is this done etc thanks :)

First you gotta go get BattleDirector. Go visit http://www.sircommunity.com for that.
As for the rest, such as recording demos, I know the very basic. You should probably take a trip over to the Sir. Community forums.

Indeed.
I noticed the user guide on the battle director thing to be rather lacking.
As in there is a bigass warning on how u shud close bf first.
But how to open it?

After you have moved your battle recorder files to the folder that's mentioned in the battledirector instructions you open up battle director and you should have a list of your BR files, click on one of them and then click 'play freecam' this then fires up bf2142 for you automatically and it'll load your BR action.
'Play freecam' doesnt record anything it just lets you mess around and practice some groovey camera angles, use the record camtrack button for that.

First go here..
My documents/Battlefield2142/Profiles/Default/Demos
...in here you'll find all your recordings, now you want to copy them to the demos folder located here.....
Local disc(C)/Program files/Electronic arts/battlefield2142/mods/bf2142/demos
Now fire up Battledirector and you should have a list of those recordings..click the little refresh icon if they're not there (the 2 little green arrows).
Dont load up bf2142,battledirector does it for you when you choose a recording and click 'play freecam' or 'record camtrack'
Hope that helps matey :)

I dont know how it works with bf2 but I do know Battle director can only be used with BF2142 at the moment.
As far as I can remember there was a similar app for bf2 which I think was called Battlelauncher (also made by the Sir Community) but I've never used it.
Check out the media section in Totalbf2,I bet you'll find all the answers you need there.
Good luck :)
