I will take a look! Loved the previous Squadplays!
EDIT: Sorry for late edit. :) But i liked the new Squadplay best till now and i discovered a new route to get to Command Center now! Thanks for that :D
Great vid. Keep them coming!
BTW: Why does it seem that there is total chaos, but it's only 24 vs 24 :p

Very nice squadding... Not as fun as previous episodes but very educational. If only every squad would play like that.

Hey Orca as always, kickin vid... specially that MASS of people in the first 30 seconds or so. I was just wondering what do you use to record? because fraps doesn't pick up what I say.. only what others say...
in other words how do you record yourself talking?

heres your answer
its all about unmuting your mic to feed your own voice back through the headphones, then your voice is recorded with game sounds
Video Settings
I've reduced my video settings to a level where I can record at 30fps & half size and still play fully without lag
Sound Settings
My 2142 sound settings are;
Effects = 15% (really quiet ingame but 3 times louder in video, just the way fraps works)
Voice Over IP
enable = YES
Transmit = 100%
Receive = 100%
Boost Mic Gain = YES
Microphone threshold test = 0%
Alt-Tabbing
Three factors add to causing alt-tab crashes
1) screen resolution of windows different from 2142
2) being in 2142 menus
3) being connected to server in 2142
This procedure eliminates two of these three factors, to minimise chance of crash
Tap test is where I tap the microphone with my finger tip and if I hear it in my mic then I know mute mic is off. Tap test I have found that this is really useful at certain key stages.
Procedure that I find works well;
Set windows screen resolution to the same as 2142
Load up 2142 and goto options / audio
Alt-tab to windows desktop
Start / control panel / sounds & audio devices / volume / device volume advanced / options - properties - playback / microphone untick mute
Taptest in windows = mute is off
Alt-tab back into 2142 audio menu and taptest = mute is off
Connect to server
As map loads taptest = mute is off
Map loads click Done, select kit & join squad & spawn, tap test = mute is off
Get recording
The key here is to alt-tab and unmute mic in the audio menu and not while connected to server
I have found that if I disconnect from server then connect to a server again then mic goes muted. I find it more reliable to work to just go to the start of the above procedure each time I want to connect to a server.
Editing & Publishing
I use for editing and rendering Windows Movie Maker that comes with windows XP as standard.
Upload to googlevideo, bigger screen than youtube.

HUUGE help much thatnks dude!
and to Vika, you don't have to move to america just to find good squading. I believe the majority of the "Tactical Gamer" crew is based in Europe

TacticalGamer crew is mostly based in US but its a large community and there are enough US TG players who play in US afternoon and enough european players that our conquest server is full in European evenings with plenty of TG people on.
to Orca
I have a request can you make your next video Titan mode where you are raiding a well defended Titan to get the core.

Noticed that when I visited. Ity was fun to be in squads where there ws actual squadding. However I had too high ping, around 140-50. So while it didn't always seem like a problem I didn't tend to die when I don't use to, like in favourable meeting engagements and so on. Sure better players could account for some, but there seem to be an equal amount of those all over on servers like these... And of course at times I lagged bit, so it simply wasn't that fun. Think about playing Titan 'light' all the time, but only you.

The problem is ping, my average ping on an american server is around 400, which is over the limit and I will get kicked... :(

Great work Orca - I have started to adpot these techniques on conquest maps - definately raises the level of enjoyment as SL and helps to have a good squad.
Argh...

The new episode was great as always and long over due....LOL. Orca, you are not allowed to have any more PC problems that will keep you from putting out your weekly videos, is that understood?:evil: People need their weekly fix and if we don't get it we start to get the shakes.....LOL. Seriously though, keep up the good work.
P.S. This last episode contained a cool little surprise when I watched it because one of my clan mates, J.O.V_Zennext was in your squad. That was pretty cool and one day I hope to be able to join up with you too for a few rounds.
